Hi! :tt2::cool2::blushing: I have been reading banding blogs for a couple of weeks now and I am somewhat confused regarding the inability to eat certain foods...or not chewing food well enough, and it getting stuck. Will the "stuck" food eventually pass through the stoma? or will it be actually stuck and require removing the obstruction endoscopically? What will happen if we accidentally swallow something that we should have chewed into a paste? Like steam or pork.

Thank you very much. I just began the paperwork this week and I'm begining to feel a little apprehension...I'm really a big baby!! I have a history of lightheadedness, headaches and sweats when I don't eat when my body tells me. I was wondering if I will get this way post op, and if I do; will it get better with time? Sorry for all of the questions. You guys have been through it and in my opinion...the experts on how you feel.

I am an overeater...not sweets or cake and the such, but lots of food! How does your body and brain handle the decrease in calories? This isn't going to deter me from the procedure. I'm just looking for tips from actual Bandsters who have, or are now going through the post-op period.

:confused:I am seriously considering this surgery as I am inpatiently waiting for my initial packet to arrive. I would like some suggestions/stories from anyone who can explain the pre-op time from ariving at the hospital, to the OR table... I work in healthcare and should be comfortable...but I am not. I have never had general anesthesia...This is the only part of the whole package that totally freaks me out! Has anyone recieved conscious sedation prior to being wheeled into the OR?
