  1. I was banded on 9-30-10 and am so glad to know I'm not alone when it comes to slow weight loss. I have been so discouraged. I have lost 29 lbs so far, 20 of which was lost pre-surgery. So I 've dropped 9 lbs since surgery but expected to see more loss than I have. The good news however, is that I have been able to button up tops that I couldn't before. Thank you all for your posts and for helping to motivate me again.

  2. I was banded on Thurs 9/30. When I was wheeled into the operating room I began to feel more anxious. The anesthesiologist reassured me I was in good hands. She put something in my IV to calm me down and the next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room. I was told that surgery began at 10:50 and I was done by 11:18am.

My suggestion to you after surgery is to walk as much as you can. This will help with the gas and your healing will be much quicker.

    Good luck to you!

  3. Hello everyone, I was banded on 9/30 and started experiencing leg pain before being released from the hosp. They did an ultra sound on both legs to test for blood clots, the tests were fine and I was sent home; however, my legs hurt like it does after a good workout. Has anyone else experienced this??

Thanks, any help or suggestions are appreciated. :smile2:

  4. I struggled with this decision too. i worried about excess skin and jiggly parts long before deciding whether this would be right for me. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm looking forward to having this tool to help bring me to better health.

I have those that support me and those who don't but I'm doing it for me and that's all that matters. My sister believes I can do this on my own and should. but she doesn't have a weight problem and never has. Although she's against it, she will be there for me tomorrow and I'm thankful for that.

My body may not be perfect later but my health will improve for sure. I'm hoping to add many more years to my life that I may not have otherwise.

best wishes to you on your journey to better health.
