  1. I too am diabetic. I last took my meds 2 nights before surgery. Now, mind you my sugars are still higher then normal but my doc only wants me to correct if over 200. I am usually between 120 & 160. Eating so little carbs is what is key for me. I figure my sugars are better now then when I was on all that insulin and pills so we'll wait and see. I hope you are testing regularly.
  2. Believe it or not I LOVE the target branded shakes. They are made by slimfast but I don't like a lot of the slimfasts. They are so creamy and not grainy at all!
  3. Firstly, I can't figure out how to reply or post without quoting... Help! Secondly, perhaps you are getting your period? The body retains water. I did the liquid diet 2 weeks pre-op and gained 5 lbs! I just had to have the faith that it will work out. Hang in there and don't obsess over the scale (talking to an obsesser!) Suddenly you might lose 4 lbs.
  4. Thanks for sharing, Im gonna try this. The one cookie thing might be a challenge for sure!
  5. Oh my god, so scarey! I was wondering what a blockage would feel like! The other nite I tried mashed potatoes and might i add a piece of choc. chip cookie. I know. ANy case, I had such bad gas *again on the left side* that I couldn't lay down to sleep! I could feel it externally. It was just horrible!
  6. I swear I brush my teeth 4 times a day and pop mints! I feel that I always have bad breath. I know from doing the Atkins thing that Ketosis (low carbs resulting in your body burning fat for energy) gives you bad breath. But I hear ya!
  7. .Also, just wanted to let everyone know I fell in love with a yogurt smoothie made by Dannon...It is in grocery stores for all of you who dont know...It's 70z., 0 sugar added, I think only 60 calories and 3 or 4 carbs....They are delicious.... I think they are called the lite & Fit. They are great. I buy the assorted pack at Sams Club. They are purple bottles, right?
  8. So does this "feeding" schedule work for you? Does a lean cuisine meal fill you up? Is it too much? I think they will be convenient for sure....
  9. That is a great idea!
  10. I am 6 days post op and that hungry feeling is just starting to show itself. For the first couple of days I had to force myself to eat, well drink. Now, Im starting to get hungry and by tumbly ir rumbly!:hungry:
  11. Okay so I am going to do this! I am scheduled for surgery on Wednesday 11/27. It has been a hell of a holiday season so far. I am doing my 2 week pre-op diet and am soooo darn hungry. I'm very nervous and scared and could use the support. Here's wishing us all skinny!
