  1. I am right there with ya! Haven't had "real" food in 6 days and counting.... it's seriously maddening.....I don't know how in the hell I can keep this up for 20 more days...... It took me 5.5 hours to get down 20 oz of a protein drink yesterday. My mind (and I think my stomach) is telling me I am so hungry! Guess I'll go suck on another Popsicle.... ugh

    Unjury...yay Or Nay?

I have a jar of PB2 in my pantry I've had for months and haven't tried yet. Once I am back to normal foods I so want to try it now. What else do you use it on? Do you use it like "normal" pb??

    Unjury...yay Or Nay?

unflavored unjury mixed in a water bottle with a dash of mio or crystal light is my fav. I've tried allllll sorts of protein powders over the last 1.5 years+ and Unjury is by far my fav. Their vanilla isn't bad either. I still wanna try the chicken soup one.
  4. prayers for all sleevers that I've missed their surgery dates the past few days and those that are today! back at work today and sip sip sipping my protein shake!!
  5. ~First day back at work - feeling pretty great! Minus the insane lack of sleep. But I am used to functioning without that! =o/

  6. I am here, and alive. Been suffering some HORRIBLE reflux/heartburn.... not gonna lie, been feeling like I may die (being dramatic here).... due to it being a revision, the part of my lower esophagus/upper stomach where my band was is still pretty inflamed and swollen. This is normal, but it does not make my life any easier at the moment. I haven't been able to get down any fluids yet.... the other girls here that were not revisions, just sleeves, have been eating their Soups and teas just fine. At this rate I will lose 50 lbs in a couple weeks if I can't get anything in! They also gave me my band to have... pretty interesting to look at and think that thing was in me for over a year!! Waiting to start feeling better so I can realize this was worth it..........
  7. tjmom and Vee - thanks ladies! I've only slept about an hour so far! So I don't know how awake I will be tomorrow to expel my chipperness! lol I told doc I didn't think I'd be able to sleep without meds (chronic insomnia for forever) and he said I would due to the meds and anesthesia. Whatever, I was right, unfortunately LOL
  8. I am here and still alive! Just now got back to my room. Spent quite a long time in recovery. I still can't feel my legs all the way due to the spinal tap, but they're coming back slowly but surely. Doc said everything went great, surgery took just over an hour. How in the hell do I post a picture in this thing? I wanted to be like Vee and post a pic of me post-op but I can't figure it out lol I have my iPhone tethered and everything, ready to go, but can't figure it out. (ETA: Okay, I figured it out!) My amazing Doc just stopped by my room to check on me. He's the best.
  9. I am very much in the closet about my surgery/surgeries. I can count on one hand the amount of people in my life that know about my WLS. I am off work until Friday and I told everyone (but the one coworker I feel close enough to) that I am having my gall bladder removed. I don't have to worry about them thinking my post-op diets are weird, because they know me as a "health-freak" anyways due to my consistent efforts to eat right and work out with my band up until now. Everyone's journey is different. I don't feel it's anyone's business, and I don't think I owe it to anyone to have to share my story either. I am not a walking PSA for obesity. Who knows, one day once I'm down 120-130 lbs I might feel like shouting it from the rooftops, and then I will (which I highly doubt) - but until then this is my decision on how to handle it. To the OP - the key to keeping this info quiet is to keep conversation about it to a minimum. The less you talk about any of it (whether it be my gall bladder cover story or what not) the less ammo they have and the less info they will search for from you. I wish you the best!!
  10. ~today is D-day...ready for this to be DONE and get this band outta me too!

  14. Hey everyone... I am here at the hotel night before surgery. Kamloops mom and her sister and stepmom are here at the hotel, too. All 3 of us have surgery tomorrow. Getting nervous finally... and homesick as well.... I don't go in for surgery till tomorrow at 12 or after, I am the last to go due to being a revision, but I will be on my laptop all morning (waiting lol).... Hugs to you MinaT!!

    Dr. Aceves :-)

Once you cross the border into Mexicali it takes Ernesto about 10 mins to get to Hospital Almater. You could almost literally throw a rock over to the states you're so close. lol When you're at the hospital your cell will still pick up the US towers. ETA: didn't see Sylvia's post before I posted mine! Redundant info, but I guess you get the point now! lol
  16. I totally sang Sir Mix Alot out loud and did some booty poppin' before stepping on the scale tonight...HAHA! 4 days till revision!!

  21. Vee - GREAT to hear from you girl! I am glad I am not a stomach sleeper! lol As long as I am on my side or back I am good to go! How much weight have you lost so far?? Dadto2 - great question!!
  22. Back~To~Amy - thanks for the update - I am glad you're doing somewhat ok!! I know after my first surgery I'd felt like I'd been ran over by a truck. Not so much pain for me but more just....well, ran-over-by-truck-ness. Hang in there- you will start to feel better! I hope we get some more post-op people checking in to hear how they're doing! June 6th'ers ya'll are in my prayers!!

    Unjury

unflavored Unjury with water (bottled works best so you can shake it) and a crystal lite packet/mio squirt. I got so used to them. It really isn't bad. Any you're tough, no way in heck would the majority of people be able to do 3 mo pre-op liquid diet!!!
