Another great thing about Dr. Aceves, he has a driver that picked me up at the airport and drove me to my hotel room that night and picked me up for surgery the next morning. He also took me back to the airport on the trip back home, which was a few days after surgery. I didnt have to worry about where to go and driving. It was awesome.

i was sleeved by Dr. Aceves in Mexico almost a year ago. I have had no problems, 100 pounds down and am a size 11/12. His staff is very courteous and professional. I would do it over in a heartbeat.Good Luck!

I am almost a year out and my Hair loss is so bad that I finally broke down and ordered a wig. I have been taking Biotin and always eat Protein first but it hasnt helped. That is the only down side to this surgery for me. I have lost 100 pounds am a size 10 but my hair is in very bad shape. I guess you cant have it all.

It was hard for me when I was in your stage too. But it did get better as time goes by. I have lost 100 pounds am a size 10 and my one year anniversary is next month. It will get better for you.

You will probably lose sweet cravings as time goes on. I have and I used to be a complete sweet fanatic.

I had the same thing and thats what I had. Just move around alot and try not to eat foods that cause gas. I still have gas problems and I am almost a year out. I just take Gas X Ultra and it works like a charm.

I am down 84 pounds and October 8 will be a year.

This is normal. Your stomach is going to stretch the further out you get. You will still have restriction but you will be able to eat more.

I waited a year after my lap bad was removed before I had the gastric sleeve. It was the worst pain that I have ever endured. I went to Mexico to get my sleeve (Dr. Aceves) and I as very pleased and coiuld not be happier. October 7 will be a year and I am 20 pounds away from my goal.
I was very impatient and did not want to wait but now looking back i am glad that I did. My body needed that time to heal. Also, if I had not of waited I am not sure my sleeve would have been such a grea success.

I have had this before and after having an upper GI, we found the culprit to be a huge ball of gas the size of a grapefruit. The only thing that got rid of it was moving around and exercising. Thats probably why you cannot eat anything either. There is no room. But just to make sure you should consult your doctor.

Have any of you ladies noticed an increase in eating around the time of your period?

Dr. Aceves is who I used. I paid a little bit more but it was worth the peace of mind. I did my research on him and all was good. I am 5 pounds away from my goal and it hasnt even been a year. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck to you.

I think it all depends on what you feel comfortable with. I went with Dr. Aceves. I personally did a year's worth of research on him before making my decision. In my opinion he is more experienced with band to sleeve revision. I myself had the lapband (which was eroded) and I wanted someone that had the most experience in that area. Also, I wanted to be in a hospital in case the absolute worst happened. Dr. Aceves and his staff were very friendly, professional and caring. I would do it over in a heartbeat. Good luck with your decision.

Yeah! You go girl.

Well it sounds like you just may have booted the problem. If he cant be supportive of you then good riddance. He was prolly the reason your stress level was so high. You will break that stall. Just stay off the scale. Good luck!

Can anybody recommend good places to eat without worrying about getting sick?

Can anybody tell me why they call it "mups" ? Is it the same as the nexium capsules ?

Yeah I am not going to him. I am scheduled with Dr. Aceves for October 8th. They say he is the best for revisions.
Glad that hes honest, but I would run from him fast if thats the case.

I had my band removed a little over a year ago due to erosion. The thing with me is I didnt have any pain symptoms. The only thing I noticed is I started gaining weight. I also went to a different bariatric surgeon. He did an endoscopy and immediately found it. He immediately took out the band and during the course of a little over a year, I have gained 65 pounds. The weight gain has affected my moods, well being, motivation and friendships and relationships.
I am happy to say that I have taken the first step to getting my life back. My surgery date is October 8th. I am having to self pay but I feel like its a small price to pay for a healhier me and getting my life back on track. I hope you find your way and wish you luck.

Mim - I think we will be fine too. My mom is going with me. I told her she didnt have to that I felt fine to go by myself but she insisted. I wish we were going to be traveling as close as you. The flight causes anxiety too along with everything else.
I see that your band worked really well for you. You went from 241 to 135. That is very impressive. Did you have good restriction? Did you exercise? Mine was a lemon from day one. Tell me how you achieved your weight loss with the band.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 10 years ago. I am on the same medication as you. I had the sleve done almost a year ago. I have lost 100 pounds and am a size 11/12. When I startedt this journey I was 286 pounds and a size 24. My weight loss would be greater if I was able to exercise more, but with work and responsibilities it is just not possible. But I am not complaining.
