  3. Hey there,

I'm so glad your surgery went well!!! I am about two and a half weeks out and LOVE my sleeve. The whole surgery experience was kind of like getting tortured for a few days...lol.. But it all went great. I had no complications and was back to work in a week. Can't wait to hear an update from you!

    Take care,

    Nikki

  4. Don't worry about your surgery. I have had no problem what so ever with my sleeve. It's like anything.... there is always a chance of complications. Thy to remain positive.

  5. hi there,

I was just pulling some stitches out..lol... the are getting pretty itchy. I am having a wicked heartburn. It seems to be when I have cranberry juice or any orange juice. i have a little weeping(bleeding) from my main incision site. I am changing my dressings twice a day. I am starting back to work tomorrow.. I am not really looking forward to that. My hubby is doing pretty good. (Men can be a little hard to deal with when they are in pain) I try to keep him motivated. I feel like I am pretty hungry at nights. I can't wait for mushy foods.

    Take care

    Nikki

  6. I am so glad you are also doing well!!! I still have some nasty gas pains. I hope they go away soon. How are your incisions? I am a little sore around the main port site. Are you having any protein drinks yet? I started yesterday to add protein drinks with my clear liquids. I feel much better doing that. i have lost about 17 lbs in total from the start of the pre-op diet (I did two weeks of it). So I am pretty happy with the results so far.

    Keep in touch!!

Hi there, I noticed that you had your surgery at the same place I am going. I will be seeing Dr. Almanza. I am sooooo excited. My surgery is Sept.2. I am from Canada and it is super expensive to have the surgery up here. So you were happy with the experience?

    Take care,

    Nikki

  14. Hi there,

I was on the lap-band web site for about a month and was motivated to have the band but I live in Canada where no MD will touch me if I have the surgery in Mexico. I would have to drive 8 hours to have a fill. IT is way too much maintainance for me. PLUS.... the long term results seem to be better with sleeve. Some people on this site used to have a band but had some complications and had it removed to switch to the sleeve.

As far as your concern about loose skin..well... we all have that concern. I think the best way to "reduce" it is to try to exercise as much as possible. We all will have loose skin, it's just a fact. Skin is pretty elastic but once it is stretched out it has a hard time going back. Try to speak to your MD about your loose skin concerns. At the end of the day you will feel much better after loosing the weight. Good luck with your decision and keep in touch.

  15. Hi there,

When is your date? That would be great to have someone around the same time as me. I am doing the two week pre-op diet . They only suggested one week but I thought that I would try two weeks. It's pretty tough. It's been a long time since I had hunger pains..lol.. Are you doing the pre-op diet yet?

  16. I am right in the middle of the two week pre-op diet. It was suggested to only do a week, but I thought that I would try two weeks. It's been a little harder than I thought. I have forgotten what it's like to feel hungry...lol.. The hardest part for me was giving up coffee. I hanging in there.

  17. Hi there,

You must be so excited. I can't even sleep, I am soooo excited/nervous. I have never been thin, or have ever felt thin. It's like having to say good-by to a toxic friend. The love hate relationship I have had with food my whole life consumed way too much time. I trying to look at food as fuel for my body and not trying to poison it any longer. I MISS COFFEE!!! The whole liquid diet thing is kind of tough, but the no coffee thig is murder lol...

    take care
