Today I had my psych visit. I didn't know what to expect but it went well. The session only lasted 40 minutes and was not bad. He had no reccomendations except for me to attend the classes that are offered free as support once surgery is done. Next Wednesday are the final steps for me, I'm so looking forward to join the lapband loser bench.

Congratulations on your surgery date. I'm sure you will do fine. I'm surpised you didn't have to do a preop diet. When I met with my surgeon I thought it was weird that he really didn't give me a goal for weight loss before the surgery. He told me 5lbs after the nurse mentioned it. I still have to do preop diet one week before the surgery. -

Have anyone ever had an ulcer and got the lapband? I was wondering how your stomach did. I have a senstive stomach but am part the blame for being over indulgent in etrememly spicy foods

Congratulations on your weight loss. I think it's great you recongnized where you went wrong and gain the weight and got it right back off. I'm looking forward to hopefully joining the loser bench with you. -
Today, I had my meeting with my surgeon. He was very informative and nice. He answered all the questions and concerns I had. He thought I would be a good candidate for the lapband surgery. I left so excited and hopeful for this surgery. Now the waiting for approval and then we can schdedule a date.

Hello, I have a meeting with my surgeon on Monday. I was told at the educational class to prepare a Medical Neccessity Letter. Do anyone have examples or tell me what i should include. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Discouraging response at seminar for lapband

I attended a seminar yesterday and was shocked at the idea that where I'm going they don't do alot of lapbands anymore because the success rate was low. The presenter also mentioned that one person in a years time had lost 7lbs. I thought that was unbelievable it really made me confused as to what to pick in regards to WLS. I see so many wonderful stories hear of success. I just can't imagine getting the band and only losing that amount of weight in a year:thumbdown: -

Thanks everyone for your committments they have really helped. My seminar was done by a program coordinator for the wls. I meet with my surgeon Monday so I will discuss my concerns with him also. -
Congratulations, I have UHC and have my first meeting with the surgeon Monday. I pray my process goes smoothly to. Good Luck to you and your husband
