  1. I have been a lurker when it comes to the lap band. I've seen friends do it successfully and really thought I could lose the weight on my own. I'm athletic, but a eater out of boredom. And of course I don't eat, don't eat, don't eat and then I'm starving and I eat way too much or the wrong things. I was going to do the procedure in August 2010, but the dr. required me to have my gall bladder removed (even though I had never had any problems what so ever with it). Anyway that turned out to be -not a walk in the park-as people had told me. So since my insurance runs Sept-Sept, not enough time to recover last Aug and get the lap band. I thought, that's okay, I'll just really work hard and lose that 100 lbs myself. Didn't happen. My hurt my knee which slowed my mobility and the rest shows on the scale. I'm to be banded on Aug 31, 2011. I'm also having my knee scoped this Friday, Aug 26. I'm on just fluids, nasty Optifast until band day. That twang taste is getting old. I've lost 8 lbs in a week on that program. I'm irritable and would love something to chew. But I'm trying to keep my mind on other things. I think like everyone, I'm going into this thinking I'm going to be successful.
