10 Rules for Lap Band
· knapp · 07/10/10 02:27 AM
My husband went to see the doctor about getting lap band also. The doctor gave him a sheet that said 10 Rules for Lap Band Success and I found it VERY HELPFUL so I thought I would share his with some everyone.
1. Eat only 3 small meals per day (300 to 500 calaries per meal)
2. Eat slowly and chew thoroughly ( Spend 30 min per meal and chew 15-20 times per bite)
3. Stop eating as soon as you feel full
4. Do NOT drink while you are eating
5. Do not eat between meals
6. Eat only good quality food ( low fat, low sugar, fruit veg, low fat meats, low fat dairy and whole grain)
7. Eat fibrous food with caution (raw fruit and veg., dry meats and bread)
8. Drink 64 oz of fluid per day
9. Exercise at least 30 min. per day
10. Attend Meetings/ Appointments
I am so looking forward to the journey and I am so happy my husband will be doing this with me....:smile2:

Question about lap band
· knapp · 06/29/10 02:26 AM
I went friday to my family doctor and he said I am a perfect canidate for the operation. So I have my 1st about July 12 with the Dietation, Nurse, and Psycholodical eval all in one day so what should I except? I am really wanting to get this done but I have a hard time staying or stopping from drinking soda, sweet tea, and chocolate. I thank that is why I am so heavy now but I also had two children and I also have diabetes. I also went to day and got a membership at the gym so I am starting/trying to get my self ready. For the people that has had the operation is it really hard to eat right, does the fill hurt, and how long are you sore or hurting after the operation?
