  1. Good news ! I finally started losing. I was starting to get worried that he would cancel my surgery. So far, I have lost 4 pounds. Weird thing is, the only thing I did differently is I changed to a different protein drink. It has the same amount of calories, but more protein. Oh well, I will take it whatever the reason!!!
  2. Just a quick update..after reading this post, I ordered these and they came today. I love them. One thing you do have to be careful of and it warns you on the box is not to get too much on your tongue at once. I had a little bit go up the back of my nose and OUCH! I won't do that again, but I am definitely using these from now on. They are awesome.

    Any Novembers yet?

Congratulations! I am on the 29th. I am so excited, but it seems so far away too.

    Thoughts

I had the opposite. I have always been 5'2". When they measured me at the surgeon's office, they told me I am 5'3" and a half. Really? Wow.

    Any Novembers yet?

Hi everyone! I, too, have a surgery date in Nov. I will be having surgery at Kaiser in South SF with Dr. Le on the 29th. I am really excited and working on having the right mind frame to be successful! Sleevester73, we have close to the same stats. I am 39, 5'3 and 211 right now. But I will be 40 in just a few days.

I will, I lucked out in the timing. I will have Thanksgiving and that Friday off with pay and then surgery on the following Monday. Figure a month off to recover, that puts me back after Jan. 1. That works for me. We don't really do any big celebratory meals for holidays since my family all lives with me, it's kind of just another day, so I won't feel left out or anything. It's really a perfect time for me.

Thanks Ali! Funny story, this morning I got on the scale and it was in a funky mood! I weight 20 lbs less than I did at the doctor! I was momentarily thrilled and then reality hit and I got back on them. No dice. I didn't lose 20 lbs. Thanks Lee! I am really excited and nervous about it. But I have 6 weeks to get used to the idea that it is really happening.
  9. The psych eval was really easy. They just kind of talk to you about why you are wanting the surgery and how you feel about your decision. They did recommend I attend the Understanding Emotional Eating class that is offered, I did and I got a lot out of it. I went back to my surgeon last week and set my date for Nov. 29th. Good Luck!

Hi All! I wanted to jump in really quick to tell you, I finally got a surgery date! I will be getting the sleeve on Nov. 29. I go back to Dr. Le on the 23rd and then meet with the anesthesiologist. That afternoon, I am going to the pre-op class. The one caveat to the date is, I have to continue to lose before the 23rd, or he will cancel the surgery. So I am looking for anyway to keep myself more motivated! When is the next support group in Sacramento? I really like that one.
  11. I am so excited! I went to see Dr. Le today, and even though I haven't lost much weight, he went ahead and scheduled my surgery for Nov. 29th. I have to go back to see him on the 23rd and if I haven't lost anymore, he will cancel it, so I have to work extra hard to keep it going!
  12. I love the new look of everything here, I thought I had gone to the wrong website! I decided to modify the two protein shakes a day...I have one in the morning, then at lunch I am having a sandwich with fruit, then dinner is lean meat with yogurt and a veggie and fruit. This is working, I am already down 2 lbs. and this will be the third day. So maybe I can lose some of the 12 lbs. before my next appointment.
  13. He hasn't scheduled me yet, I have had my psych appointment and done orientation. I also agreed to take a class on emotional eating up in Santa Rosa, I figured every little bit I can learn and do will help.
  14. Hi Lisa Marie! I live in Novato and have Dr. Le also. Your story sounds almost exactly like mine. I was even the same weight as you. He told me the same stuff about his receptionists too! What does he have you doing to lose that 10 lbs? He put me on 2 Protein shakes a day and I tell you, I am struggling with it. Anyway, hi and welcome to the forum! Everyone here is super nice and helpful. :001_smile:
  15. You can get the Pure Protein in Ready to drink. Trader Joes has Frosty chocolate and vanilla. It's pretty good and easy to drink. My favorites are banana and Cookies and Cream so you look around and see if there is another vendor around. I am pretty sure there is a Vitamin Shoppe in SF.
  16. I like the Pure Protein. I get it at The Vitamin Shoppe in Corte Madera, not sure where you are, so you might have to find one closer. I also like Click espresso protein drink, but it has caffeine in it so you might want to stay away from it. I haven't had surgery, I am still working on getting approval from Dr. Le. I will be there on the same day as you! My appointment is at 3:30.
  17. Thanks! I didn't even think of that. I just sent him one, so we will see what he says. It was easy to switch, I just called Richmond and told them I wanted a second opinion since I was not comfortable with my last visit. They don't schedule second opinions at the same facility so they sent the referral to SSF and then SSF contacted me with an appt date.
  18. I alternate between 2, one has 160 cal and 1 carb and the other is 170 and 4 carbs. I will keep doing this until I go back and see what he says. Maybe I am not getting enough?
  19. Hi all, I am still around. I have gotten so discourage here lately. Dr. Le put me on 2 protein shakes a day and one meal, and I have gained a pound from my last visit! I don't know what to do. My next appointment is in 17 days and I have 17 pounds to lose! Don't think it's happening. Ha!

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Hi everyone! I got lost again. I lose the thread subscription and forget to check in again. I am still plugging along on the two shakes a day. I haven't lost anything, but I have until Oct. 15th for something to happen. I swear I did better on the Richmond pre-op diet than this. I look forward to seeing everyone again! Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi there! Pam it's just as quiet over at the sleeve site too! I thought my subscription had dropped again!! I am just chugging along doing 2 shakes a day and then dinner. I am usually starving by this time of day, but I'm doing it. I am not seeing any love on the scale though. I go back to Dr. Le in Oct and see what he says then. He did say he would do the surgery if I still wanted it when I go back. I go to my psych appt on Friday and I get set up on CPAP Thursday. Have a great week!

    Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Hi everyone! I went and saw Dr. Le yesterday and he didn't understand what Dr. Fisher was saying either. He told me he would do the surgery for me, lose 16 pounds and come back in a couple of months. He also had me schedule my psych eval which is next friday. He sent a note to my pcp to make sure someone followed up and got me set up with a cpap because he wants me to be on it for 2 months prior to surgery. He told me to "keep" drinking the protein drinks and when I told him Richmond doesn't allow that he was shocked. He asked me twice "even right after surgery?" I told him exactly what Liz said and he had no idea who she is. So, starting yesterday I have two shakes a day and then dinner.
  23. That is fantastic! Congrats! :w00t::thumbup::thumbup:
  24. Wow, you are doing wonderfully! Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it.
  25. That's great Labrys...who is your dr? I am switching to SSF on the 18th and have an appt with Dr. Le
