freaking out!
Starving your body is never the answer. You're malnurished so whatever you do eat your body stores. Go back to eating protein every 3 hours and keeping up on your fluids. Get a woman's multi-vitamin and take it everyday. You may be able to consult with your surgeon's nurse practitioner. They're there to support you too. You got the post op nutrition guidelines 6 months ago. You can do this.

Dumping?
I have dumping syndrome from all kinds of foods. My guess, it was too dense because it was so lean. Try a 85% and see if it goes down better. The fat softens the density and may help you chew it slower and eat less of it. Just throwing out ideas...they're probably wrong lol.

freaking out!
Friday I had the full sit down appt with my NUT, she told me I was doing great. But, I am obessing over the numbers. She suggested I give myself a break and have a reward meal. I had chinese take out, shrimp and chicken with green beans. My husband took me to See's Candy store this weekend and while he and our 2 boys were eating samples of different chocolates, he walked me over to the counter and asked for sugar-free dark chocolate...it had walnuts in it too!! It took me almost 10 minutes to eat the damn thing, but I felt a little more "human" and relaxed. I kicked up my workout today to make up for it lol. All in all, I appreciate everyones feedback.

When could you start PUREE diet? How many days post op?
One week post op. My surgeon does a staple line and a folded suture line. He doesn't want us on liquids too long cuz of risk of dehydration is high and can easily become fatal. He's never had a leak, been doing this surgery for 8 years.

freaking out!
I live in Tucson Arizona lmfao...have Mexican food everywhere! But I like your recipe. I am just so scared I'm doing this all half-assed with a half-cocked ego cracked by fear. I had so much confidence last week, then about 2 days ago...I went bonkers! I freak out at the costs of my protein supplements and vitamins...and then I look at the crap my kids eat or want to eat and shutter. I think I need sleep and a small cheat meal. I haven't had a single non-approved food or drink in a month. I'm so regimented and afraid one Hershey kiss will lead to moo-moo's and curlers (no offense if anyone wears those). I feel like a true addict in withdrawal. Ok, now I sound like a true nutcase...

freaking out!
Today I am 4 weeks out. I'm eating 800 calories a day. Getting avg 70g protein and 60oz fluids. I'm scared to death I'm going to fail at this. I have nightmares about bingeing on desserts and being 600 lbs bed ridden and huffing and sweating eating a 12ft sub and a whole chocolate cake. My NUT said I need to be eating 500-700 cals a day, low fat low carb no sugar..,,like WTF does that leave me to eat!?!???!! I have a family and a small business I can't afford to eat only organic whole foods. I just want to cry all the time. What do you really eat? I don't want to fail myself. I'm freaking out on numbers all day. If I eat too many cals but get my protein I ferl like I failed for the day. Then I eat fewer cals on a lower end of 60g of protein and I'm hungry and wiped out. What's wrong with me?

Was your band removal and revision surgery done at the same time?
Banded June 2010, total failure after cancer, a horrible car accident, very unrealistic expectations, and poor education. Band was removed and I was converted to the sleeve 12/31/14 one surgery. Took about 90 minutes. Had an extensive hernia repair done at the same time as well so I had to spend 3 days in the hospital cuz I was so swollen I couldn't get fluids down. I'm almost a month out and am still struggling with the new lifestyle but so happy I did it.

Daily nutrition facts?
I use MyFitness Pal to help track what I'm eating, more to keep track of my protein intake of 60-80g/day. I usually am under 800 cals/day, 60g carbs, 40g fat, 30-40g sugars. It's just a way that I like to eat to have energy. I haven't lost my hair, I'm losing weight (so far), I take a multivitamin...but...I haven't exercised yet! yikes, right? I'm still in my first month so I'm swollen and just got to the point a few days ago where I'm not in pain. I feel a little stronger each day. I see my nutritionist on Fri and will post any new suggestions she gives me. I guess I feel very blessed to have such a great sugical team that is extremely supportive. They have support groups and I can call anytime with the smallest of concerns. They want me healing, learning, and loving my new self before I go running a 5K lol. I didn't get fat overnight and now I have a LAST chance at living my life in my healthy body. My goal when I started this was never to wear a bikini or walk the runway in a size 0. I want the X off my shirts and the W off my jeans. Thats it! I want to see my 10 and 5 year old sons graduate college and be sitting in the bleachers, not watching on skype because I'm bedridden from my weight. Don't become obsessed with the numbers unless it helps you FUEL your body better. Be good to your new self!!

Risk of getting a hernia?!?!
My surgeon did an extensive hernia repair on me when he did my VSG, so....guideline were: 2 weeks no exercise, walking as tolerated only and very light housework, no bending, lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling over 20 pounds. 2nd-4th weeks no lifting over 20 pounds and aerobics only. No weight training, strength training intensive workouts until after one month follow up.

Painkillers
Pain pills that are opioid analgesics like codeine, vicodin, percocet, are hard on even normal sized stomachs! I always took mine with a little food or an 8oz glass of milk.
