I started gaining weight at the age of ten by the age of 12 my family called me fat and that I needed to go on a diet. So from theage of 12 I have been on one diet after another, never ever achieving a proper weight that was healthy for me or anyone. I had plannedon having gastric bypass when it first came out but I just couldn't afford it at the time being that I was a single mother with two daughtersI was raising and was responsible for. I am now remarried and have insurance that is willing to help pay for my surgery due to all my healthproblems and my weight. So I have chosen to have the lapband after much talking with others that I work with that have had it and are doingfabulous with it. I have many health risks going into this but after great consideration I have decided that I may not live much longer if I don't.So either way I am at risk and have weighed everything totally out and have decided it is my best and only chance to have a near normallife even at my age. I am excited beyond words having the opportunity to go through with surgery and hope that everyone around me willbe as supportive as I am of myself to me,but I know my husband already isn't so it will be a battle that I have to deal with good or bad.Because I will do this with or without his support and help.
