    Does anyone have any criminal lawbackground, I desperately need advice as I have a lawyer but would like to have a second opinion... Here is the case briefly: I have been charge with three counts of assault as a result of defending myself. My spouse and I had a fight, and he almost threw me out of the car and I punched him, for him to stop trying to push me out. Now my lawyer told me that I am facing most likely jail time and this is my first offence, is this usual for first time criminal offence? what other outcome could there be?
