Hi
"This was written Sat" Hi All, I'm Back!! It’s day 3 out of surgery and I’m feeling pretty Good!!! My Dr. had to do a "Substantial" Hiatal Hernia repair. I was on the table for more than 3 hrs. then to the recovery room. Soooo, most of Wed. was a Big Blurrrr. Thu. was very long and uncomfortable but, I still wanted to go home. I walked my laps around the surgical ward, Stage 1 fluids, my stage 2 protein drink and left Hospital @ 5:30 pm. I arrived home 8:30pm. Fri. I was up to watch the sunrise, and went back to bed. I did good drinking my fluids. I went slow & steady to meet the requirements. Much less gas pains than my 3/31/10 gallbladder surgery. No nausea, no choking and no throwing up. These were my biggest fears. I’m just hanging low for the rest of the weekend. Thanks for all the support you’ve given me!!

Any June Bandsters???
Hi Barbee, :Banane20: I go to the 60's group on occasion, they are not as active as the Pre-op & post-op forum but, we can ask questions for our age group. I bought some different brands and flavors of prepared shakes & powders to see what I'd like and to be prepared. You will want a week or two supplies on hand. Good luck!!!

I was going "crazy" last night but, stopped myself. Now stop beating yourself up:banghead:!!! Be good the rest of the weekend:smile:. You will be fine. Jennifer, I'm so glad your feeling better:tt1:!! It's a major surgery and we have a battle ahead of us all. I'm not really nervous but I'm feeling ant-sy like a little hyper:ohmy:. I know I'm gonna need support. So I hope to see you!!! I go in the driveway and go left up the hill & bear right. That entrance is the 3rd floor, go past the infomation desk on the right and use those elevators up one floor to the 4th floor. I think you take a right and go down the hall to suite 4420. The meeting is in the waiting room, with the dietitian. (the office staff are gone for the day by then). CarolD

Any June Bandsters???
Hi Jasmine, You'll never know what hit you, surgery wise until you wake up :crying:. They'll give you something to relax you in the IV. I'm sure you are in good hands. The Drs. do this all the time, the medical team & nurses are excellent at their jobs. We are all nervous and anxious . You will have pain , just take the pain meds and the worst will be over in a few (2-4) days. You'll be able to get up and do what you have to. Just take it real easy. Hug a pillow and sip your fluids. Let us know how it goes?? Good Luck and God Bless you,:frown: CarolD:smile2: PS. I'm getting banded the 16th!!

Hi Jennifer, I'm sorry you're feeling depressed. If you are hungry are you sure you're getting enough Protein and caleries? I'm depressed a little now because I'm mourning my best friend "Food" & I'm having surgery next Wed. I'm sure it's normal but I'm seeing a councelor to help me work thru this proccess. I know it's going to be the hardest thing I've EVER done. It seems live Bandster Hell is a real phase. Remember, you just took a giant step to improve your Health and You started a New Job at the same time. An awful lot on your plate, sorry about the pun, Bad. Call the nutritionist tomorrow to see if you can add something soft or thicker to your shakes?? (apple sauce, banana??) I don't know?? Please come to the Faulkner Mon night for the support meeting. So all of us can meet you. I'm going to be in your shoes in the next couple of weeks. We will have to help each other. You still haven't fully healed yet, please take it slow. I hope this helps. My prayers to you:smile:, CarolD

Hi Gwenyth, Welcome!!! You made the big step and had the surgery, to "Help" you. Learn everything you can so you will succeed the long fight ahead !!If you're following what the Dr. and Nutritionist you'll do fine. I've seen so many different versions of Post-Op diets from each person on the forum. Are you drinking Protein Shakes? Read the different forums, Like Most Frequently Asked Questions. This site covers almost everything you could think of and stuff you never thought of!! No question is stupid, so ask away. I went back several pages on many different forums and sucked up as much info as I could. Good Luck on your new Journey, CarolD7771:smile2:
