  1. Happy 39th Birthday jenndall1896!

  2. I got my first fill last Monday and I was worked up and anxious about it all day but it was a breeze. My doc laid me down on the table with a pillow in the small of my back and he finds my port under fluroscopy. They spray a numbing spray on the area, wipe it off and then insert the needle. The only thing I felt was the coldness of the numbing spray. You should really find out how your doctor does the fills whether he uses the fluoro and barium or goes it without. I think it would probably make a difference but before you make yourself sick with worry just call and ask.

Am I really at THIS point?

You sound just like I did a year ago. I had reached the 300 lb mark and that was it. I was sleeping with a CPAP machine and was in the "pre" stage for both diabetes and hyperglycemia. I went to a seminar and really listened to the physician and took it to heart literally; either I had to get this weight off or I would probably be dead sooner rather than later. I did a LOT of research, a lot of praying, attended another seminar with a list of questions and also scheduled a personal consult with my physician. I am now 4 weeks post-op and down 37 lbs (including my 2 week pre-op diet) and the only regret I have is that I did not do it sooner. I am 36 years old and I want to be healthy and alive when I am 40. We can talk if you have any questions I can answer. Good luck with your decision I know its not an easy one to make. Trip to Lane Bryant

I am anxiously waiting for my moment. I too have done years of shopping at Lane Bryant and the last several years only online shopping because it can be so dissappointing going shopping. I am so ready to be able to shop in "normal" clothing stores for the first time in my adult life. Congratulations to you on all your success.:scared2:
  5. I used the Gas-X dissolvables and they do help temporarily but you just have to keep moving and make the gas move. I still continued with gas pains up until about the 4th or 5th day but it will ease up soon Hang in there.

    Hello y'all!

Welcome I'm Jennifer and I am now 4 weeks post-op and finally eating solid food (for the last 2 days) and I can't believe I made it. I was up and moving and feeling back to myself after about a week. I walked as much as I could which really helped and the discomfort was gone for me after about a week. So hang in there not much longer now.

    Embarassed

I too have done the chew and spit during my liquid phase. I only did it a few times but it seemed to satisfy my need for chewing and it let me have the taste without swallowing the food. I am now on my first few days of solids again so I am thankful I made it.
  8. Last Friday I was 3 weeks post op and awaiting my first fill next Monday. Yesterday (Sunday) I noticed a small red area about 4 inches below my port site incision. It has continued with redness, swelling and tenderness. I am worried there may be something wrong with my band or maybe that I bumped into something or leaned against my desk and have damaged the band. Just wondering if anyone knows what this might be. I'm thinking I should call my doctor. Any suggestions.
