Help! My pants are too big!
It might not be a bad idea to give the clothes to Salvation Army - here in Canada that is a Christian organization that has very little overhead as opposed to some other charities. I have bought dress pants from goodwill for work and they are just fine - you probably won't even need them for too long so why spend so much money on new ones.

12 Days Post, Ok to mow my yard?
Hello, be careful - don't be a fool like I was. I planted all the annual flowers 5 days post op and prayed I wouldn't damage anything.

dear gas pain
Hello, sorry that you are in pain. the thing that helped me a lot was to walk around and Maalox. It goes away after about (for me) 10 days. Take care.

:welldoneclap:Thanks! It seems I'm doing more work around the house here as there is quite a lot of yard work to do. I would have loved to have gone walking today but ended up doing at least 4 hours of yardwork again. Hope you're all doing well. lol

Pain after eating?
:sad:Hello, sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I also experienced this for a while and from what i've read it is gas and it will subside as the days go on. Mine is gone now.

how long will it take to lose 65 pounds?
Thanks to both of you for your great feedback. When I posted my comment I was unsure how to navigate site so missed these great posts. I have always been active but more so around the house, yardwork. proportionate eating was more my trouble. I'm really enjoying this site and all the friendly comments I've seen. thanks again.

April Bandsters - How are you doing?
:seeya:Hello all, my name is Lena and I was banded April 28 so I am 2.5 weeks post op. Solid foods start for me tomorrow and most of the gas pain has subsided. I wish I could stop burping though - I'm sure it is because my bites or gulps are still a bit big. I have been sticking to 800 calories a day at present and not eating anything after 7 o'clock at night. If I am really starved though I have some fat free jello. I am also really watching the salt intake to avoid water retention. I find having this band has put me in a different mindset and my mood is so much more stable - it's kind of nice to have some rules to live by when it comes to eating. Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Struggling.
:smile:It is normal not to be hungry at this stage. My doctor insisted that is be on clear fluids for the first week (broth, jello) second week full liquids (cream soups etc) mushed food third week no solids until fourth week. Maybe talk to the doctor to see what he recommends. Lots of luck to you!

Excited for Summer!
:Banane23:Hello, fellow summer lovers; I was at Wal Mart the other day and noticed they had a huge ton of beautiful swimsuits both in regular size and plus size - gorgeous colours, great styles the works.
-
Anyone else?
Initially, but it doesn't last that long. Hunger starts to creep back in after a few weeks if there isn't any fill in the band.
-
@`~~ May 2010 Workout Challenge @,~~
:Banane34:Hello all, another day of not a 30 walk. 2 hours yard work, raking, sweeping, shovelling, hauling - cannot even move now. Cheers eveyone!

Nervous about next stage of diet
Hello, I am in the mushie stage and am finding that ground meat is much easier for not getting stuck in the throat though it still has to be well chewed. I havent tried pureeing meat. I had some tuna from the can but had to mush mush mush it up with the fork to be able to swallow it. I ate it unmushed first and it was so painful. I added some mayonnaise and then a little bit of water to mush it out.

Will i see the weight fall off?
I totally agree. I see my photo as in my profile one which was taken in Dec 09 and I look like a football player - only I am not wearing the protective pads - it just looks like I am.
-
Sexy knickers!
That is a really fun feeling. I can't wait to throw away my 10 litre ones too.

post-op
Hello, I went through the same thing. Please take very very small sips. It can be very painful if you take larger sips. I couldn't really swallow too much until about 7 days after surgery and if I take a big gulp now, 16 days post op - it is very uncomfortable.
