    Doing well

Keep up the good work! You are doing great. It will come off... You'll get there.

    First fill

Hang in there.... keep the faith. The same thing happened to me. I had my first fill on May 26 and have lost no weight until today... I see a one pound loss. My next fill is one week from today. My weight loss is going very slowly.... but as long as it's going... I'll have to hang in there, too. Try not to get too discouraged. It will happen.
  3. Congratulations!! You've done so well on your journey. My journey is just beginning and I've been stuck in bandster hell for about a month... but I see a one pound loss this morning.... so my spirits are lifted.
  4. Sorry to hear you are having trouble. That's a great loss right off the bat. Get back on that scale... check your weight and get back to basics today. You've done well. You can do it. Use the band properly... It won't fail you. Why go through the surgery ... you at least have to meet it half-way. It's not a fix all .. cure all. We need help through this journey. I was banded May 3 and am struggling. I've had one fill and am hungry all of the time. Be strong. You can do it. My email is my name at hotmail if you'd like to talk.
  5. Well.. I'm glad to hear that it's not just me having trouble with leftovers. Man.. that chicken or pork can be tough reheated!!
  6. If I might offer advice.... when you go to buy the extender, be sure to take the bra with you to match up the hooks. I've never been able to find an extender that fits correctly. Sounds like a good idea though. Good luck. As for sports bras... they don't offer enough support for me. I have a very physical job and I need the support.

    Haven't Lost Weight

I gained weight from the surgery... (May 3) but then have lost about 17 pounds in 6 weeks. The last 3 weeks haven't showed a loss. I'm at a stand still. It's hard... it takes time..... we need to have patience.
  8. Wow... quite a coincidence that you would post this question. I went to Lane Bryant (Cacique) yesterday for two new bras. My old ones were just too big around the rib cage. I've lost less than 20 pounds but my old bras were very old and stretched out to the point of not holding up 'the girls' any longer. I had to break down and get two new bras. I got fitted there at the store and found a perfect fit. Two bras for $36. I lost a size at my rib cage... but the cups stayed the same. I don't think I'll change much in bra size. When you need to bite the bullet and spend the money... ya have to do it. Oh... and the new support feels great!! I'm a new person.
  9. Oh man... I'm sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble! Hope you are on the mend now with no more episodes. Take care of yourself!

    No Restriction???????????

I'm right there with ya. I go for my second fill on July 1st.. I can't wait. This is a very hard time for me. I'm hungry a lot.. I try very hard to stay under 1350 calories a day. This is hell.
  11. No problem at all eating popcorn. I'm eating a 100 calorie bag as I type.

    Caloric Intake, daily

My surgeon didn't give me a calorie limit. Although my family doctor told me 1500. I took it upon myself to try to stay under 1350 calories a day. My scale hasn't budged in a couple of weeks. Sometimes I have 800 .. sometimes it's 1100... but it's never more than a few calories over 1350 tops.
  13. I either take a Centrum chewable or two Flintstone's chewables. I also take a mint flavored chewable Omega vitamin. I think it's important to take vitamins. As far as calories, I think everyone sets different limits for themselves. In my case I try to stay around the 1350 mark. My problem is exercise. I hate it and it hates me. I MUST get more exercise so I can start pushing these pounds off faster. It seems I'm at a stand still for a few weeks now. This fat does not want to leave my body.

    Alcohol Consumption

I had a cocktail about 5 weeks out. There was a celebration and I went for it. Had no adverse reaction. Life goes on. Just don't turn to alcohol to replace your addiction with food... Be very careful switching one addiction for another. It happens.
  15. Good... Do you feel better now? It should make you feel a lot better. I know it's very hard to be on liquids for so long. Just a little substance helps a lot.

    First Fill Tomorrow!!!

My first fill was 1cc... then on liquids for a day.. then mushies a day... and back to food.
  17. By day 5 I was ready to chew my arm off I was so hungry, so my doc told me I could progress to full liquids and mushies. That was music to my ears. I made a protein shake right away and it tasted like Heaven. It really satisfied me. Hope you can move to the next stage and get some comfort. It's not easy... hang in there.

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

Well.. I saw my doc. He says I'm losing one pound a week and that's what I should expect. He gave me the option of getting a fill and I declined. I told him I'm happy with an average of one pound a week. Doc says don't worry about how many cc's anyone else has or gets. Everyone is different and has different reactions and results to fills. Even though my scale didn't budge for a couple of weeks, he reminded me that I'm down 4 pounds since I last got weighed in his office 3 weeks ago. I need to be patient and stop obsessing over the scale. It's so hard though, isn't it? I go back to see him in two weeks. If I haven't lost two pounds I'll get a little fill. I have to remember this is a journey.... not a sprint. Oh Lord... please give me patience.
  19. I'm in the same boat. Scale hasn't budged in over two weeks. It's very frustrating. I see my doc today. Not sure if he'll fill or not. I just had my first fill two weeks ago. I'm being very good. I'm not going over 1300 calories a day. I'm keeping my portions small... I know this has to start working sometime. I just hope it's soon. lol

    Hiatal Hernia

From what I understand, Many people have hiatal hernias. Mine was diagnosed during my pre op testing (endoscopy). My surgeon said he'd decide once he got in there if it should be repaired or not. He repaired it. I had no idea that I had acid reflux and an eroded esophagus. I knew something was going on in my throat though. In December I had a sore throat that wouldn't go away after many trips to the family doc. Then in March I found out the problem when I had the endoscopy done.

    Any May 2010 Bandsters?

I was banded May 3.. have lost 16 pounds. Had one fill (1cc). I'm hungry all the time. I keep under 1300 calories a day and my scale has not budged in two weeks. I see my doc today.

    WII Fit

I have one. I don't use it very often. The novelty wears off. Plus.. it groans every time I step on it. I know I'm fat... I don't need to be reminded. lol... I enjoy JUST DANCE or Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). That's what I'd suggest that you get for the Wii if you want to get moving and have fun, too. I also like Sports Resort.

    First Fill Tomorrow!

I was banded May 3, 2010 and had my first fill May 26(1cc). Exercise? I just spent two days sealing my deck by hand (9 gallons of sealer). I'd call that exercise. lol.. But no formal exercise yet. My weight hasn't budged in two weeks. I guess I'm experiencing the 'Bandster Hell' that I've read so much about. I'm down 16 pounds since starting my journey. I keep saying I'm going to start exercising but all I do is take short walks so far. I see my doc again this afternoon.
