  1. My BMI is 44. I weigh 240 and am 5'2. What my dr and the insurance website: I have perfect blood pressure, and do not have diabetes.. sigh. This is sad, But I'm hoping something gets flagged on my physical so I can get the surgery.
  2. Hi everyone! My name is Felisha and I am 20 years old. My husband is Michael and he is 23 currently in the US Army deployed to Iraq. We have a son and he is 9mo old. I have been thinking about getting lapband surgery and after several long talks with my husband I think it is the right choice for me. I went to talk to my PCD today and she pointed me in the right direction. I found a lapband facility that will help me with my journey. My insurance will only approve me if I have any other health issues besides being 100lbs over weight. So I have a full physical scheduled for Friday. I got in a car accident 3 years ago and my back/left hip is in CONSTANT pain. 10/10 every day. My DR said that because I live "day to day" and "get around fine" that will not qualify me under my insurance. My mother has sleep apnia(sp) so I'm going to have them schedule me for a sleep study. I'm hoping I can get qualified because my husband and I can not afford it otherwise, and the facility here doesn't offer financial aid. Anyway, I joined to read success stories and getting advice.
