I am a self-paid patient. "Fat, but not fat enough" when it came to insurance coverage. Struggled for years to get weight off and KEEP IT OFF. I would lose, only to gain again. It was a defeating cycle!! Finally, I hit close to 200 lbs. and was wearing a size 16. My husband and I both decided that I was worth the investment of finding me again! So, we found a surgeon, paid out of pocket, and I had my surgery!
