When did you feel like a "normal" person ?

A quick reply... I sometimes wonder myself what "normal " is. I had my band in April of 2006 and have lost 100+ lbs. It seems that I can gain and lose the same 6 to 8 lbs , not more than that and I sometimes think that maybe that is normal. Afterall define "normal" . I was told that at some point we just have to be happy and accept our accomplishments with the band and realize that we have accomplished a ton and look back on this at a really big adventure. Maybe it never will be "normal" but what an accomplishment this weight loss really is for all of us.

    HELP! Dining Out Question

I would go out....you deserve it!!! Try soup and a restaurant if all else fails that what I order. Ruby Tuesdays has a wonderful cream of brocc/califlower that it to die for and really fills you up GOOD LUCK!
  6. I am about 1 1/2 years post-surgery. I am happy to say that I have lost a total of 150lbs. yeah!!! I have a question for the one out there who have maybe the same situation as me. I am about 20lbs from my goal... I cannot seem to loose that last 20 lbs. I have only had one fill , 0.3 total in my band. I had that fill in April of this year and have not gone back since. I had a prolapse in my band in January of 2007 and had surgery to correct it, since then I have been wonderful and would totally do this over and over again. But I keep gaining and losing the same 3-4 lbs week after week. My doctor told me that it would be harder and harder to drop the last 20, he was not kidding. I have been extremely careful not to stretch the pouch and watch what I eat like a hawk and I think that is why this has gone so well for me. I really feel restricted with just the one fill in the band , so I really do not want to get another fill anytime soon. Anyone have any suggestions or has anyone struggled with this themselves? I will await your responses ... Thanks:clap2:

Weird symptoms of being to tight?

You sound exactly like me... I had my banding in April of 2006. I have lost about 140lbs to date.. REALLY FAST!! When the doctor did my very first fill, he had problems getting into the port so we did it under flora... When he finally got it. I felt really restricted but he said, just try it.. about 10minutes out of his office I started throwing up.. did not stop for two days, went back, had the fill taken out. Everytime I try to fill the thing.. I am sick so currently, I have had nothing in my band for almost 7 months and I continue to lose. Just one week ago, I had a endoscopy ( a scope) to see what was going on. It appears that scar tissue had built up on the inside of the band,(inside my stomach) so he balloned it and streched my band back out. Thus really releaving my restriction.. It appears to me that this surgery is not without its complications, but I truly believe that I would do it again. at least right now I would do it again.

    Hello

Hello.. this is my first thread... I am new to this site and I have to say that I love it!!!! I was banded in April 2006, I have to say this has been a trying expierence for me. I have lost about 100lb to date and I feel really wonderful however, food is such a challange for me. Seems like one day I can eat pretty well and the next day, not soo good. Does anyone else have this expierence? I have been adjusted twice just to have it all taken out. I have nothing in my band and have had nothing in my band since July 2006. I continue to lose weight, not extemely fast but fast enough. My biggest question is, will food ever be something I can enjoy again? and what stops you from loosing too much weight, what makes it quit? HELP ME!!! :help: michelle36
