I read your response to a woman who is having trouble with her band and her doctor is of no help. You said your doctor talked you out of the lap-band, which is a shame. I had my band 4 weeks ago and I have never felt so good. No one can make the decision for you, but you should reconsider doing this for your good health and longer life.

Hi, Blondie. I will be taking a new picture this weekend and will probably change my avatar. I really never liked the picture I am using, but it was the most recent one I had. I am actually wearing a wig in the picture, which is similar to my actual hair, just lighter in color.
The reason I had a wig on is that I had breast cancer surgery (left breast mastectomy) on Jan 5th and I was scheduled for chemo and radiation, which thank goodness it turned out I didn't need. But I got the wig because I was told I would lose my hair within 11 days after starting chemo. I took the wig pic to show friends who lived out of state.

How are you doing, girlfriend? What are you eating? Have you seen your primary or surgeon yet? Get a blog going so we can keep up with your progress.

Hey, Cris:
Do you feel like you need the fill? Sometimes around 11:00am I start to feel hungry and get that stomach growl that is so loud everyone who shared my office start laughing. But then I realize I hadn't been drinking my water. I get so involved at work; I am training some new employees so I just forget. But other than that, I am not really getting hungry. My surgeon said if I don't feel that I need it next week, we can wait another week. He says usually 4-5 weeks and most patients need it. I think I feel I am doing well now and I am afraid to get so restricted that i have problems eating at all. He said they usually add about 2cc a fill. How about your doctor?
I thought once you were on thyroid medication you can never get off it, but my doctor says depending on my numbers, I could stop it. It is a very low dose.

You must be getting so excited and anxious to join those of us who have been banded and feeling great. I hope you will post when you have time to let us know how you are doing. It is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
Remember, walking is the most important thing after the surgery to get rid of the gas you are going to have in your upper back and shoulder. It will pass, just give it a couple of days. Some people use GasX, but I just walked. Take it slow the day of surgery, but the next day push yourself to get up and walk. I watched TV the day after surgery and on every commercial, I got up and walked back and forth in my condo.
I will be thinking about you - we all will.

I am so glad you are doing well. I did do good this weekend while the hubs was away. I went to the gym Friday night, mani/pedi on Sat am, worked out with my resistance bands on Sat afternoon, gym Sun morning and light arm weight Sun evening. And of course, my wonderful seafood meal both Sat and Sun.
Rich is home now and I really like it better when he is here

Thanks for the comment on my blog and your prayers for my success. You look as if you have been doing rather well and getting thinner. It will be a year for you soon, any suggestions to keeping on target?

Thank you for the Joel Robinson link. I will certainly pass it on to my horror-geek husband upon his return from the Famous Monster's convention this weekend in Indi. I am sure he has heard of your friend as he listed magazines my husband reads. My husband, Rich Schellbach, is a freelance writer so perhaps they have heard of eachother. Have a great evening and thanks again.

I can't wait - what did your doctor say? Are you on pureed food, liquids or regular foods? How are you feeing?
I had a great visit with mine doctor today. So far, I have lost, according to his scale, 15.9lbs since the week before my surgery, which was June 21st. I am now on regular food. I feel great and I hope you are doing as well.
Let me know what is happening.

I am so glad to hear you are doing better. It isn't easy, but we are all in this together. The gym is the best! I love the treadmill on the random setting - having the floor go up and down. It is fun. I would love try Zumba. My gym offers the classes - I'll have to check the schedule. Have a great 4th.

Well, how are you feeling? Make yourself get up and walk around, even if it is just around your home. I have a small condo, so I walked around my dining table and back and forth from the front door to the back sliding glass doors.
I just noticed your date of birth, which makes you about 2 months older than my son! My goodness I am old, but getting thinner!

How did your surgery go? Please remember to do as much walking as you can, sip, sip, sip and rest. You might want to try GasX - I didn't need it, but a lot of my other bandster buddies say it worked really well. Please let me know how you are doing. This was the greatest gift we could have given ourselves. Enjoy it, embrase it and live a long, healthy life.

Well, it has been 6 days since my surgery on the 21st. I feel wonderful. I was finally up to going to the gym today and did great. I walked 1.35 miles and did some upper body workout. When I stepped on the scale, the last time was the 18th, I almost fell over becuase I have lost 7 lbs 4 oz. I am just loving this band. First doctor's visit is coming on Tues. I am excited to see when he will want to do a fill. I start Mushy foods on Friday. I can't wait. How are you doing, your lucky dog?

Today was my first day back to the gym and I weighed myself. I almost fell off the scale when I saw a 7lb 4oz weight loss. Can you believe it? I know it will slow down and I will need a fill, but this is the biggest loss I ever had in a 10 day period. I go to the surgeon on Tues. for my first checkup. I know I am doing great - I feel wonderful. How did your fill work out for you?
