  1. Thanks for the comment on my blog and your prayers for my success. You look as if you have been doing rather well and getting thinner. It will be a year for you soon, any suggestions to keeping on target?

  2. 71 lbs in just over 3 months is an amazing amount of weight. How wonderful you are doing. What weight did you start at? How much do you wish to lose? I will have my first fill on Thurs and am a little nervous and a little excited. I've lost 20lbs in 1 month, 4 days. I also don't like to weigh myself, except at the gym. I write down my progress every Sunday. Keep up the amazing job you are doing.

  3. Sounds like you are doing really well, congrats. I was banded on 6/21 and have lost 10.2 lbs since. I am on mushy/pureed foods because the liquid diet was not cutting it for me. I feel really good and hope I can continue to do as well as you appear to be doing.

  4. I wanted to check in with you to see how you were doing? I hope you are feeling better. Has some of the gas left? Keep walking is what I hear everyone say.

  5. Just checking to see how you are doing on your journey? I hope you are losing tons and feeling fabulous!

  6. Looked at your photo album and you look great! How are you feeling? Did the fill make you feel any different? Haven't had one yet, perhaps on the 2nd of Sept, so I am curious.

  7. back from vacation

  8. Tomorrow is the day - my re-birthday. I am so excited. I am also a little nervous. I would be so happy to look back a year from now and see I lost 100 lbs like you did.

How are you doing? Any words of advice?

  9. 4lbs in 6 days is amazing. You keep it up. How are you feeling? My surgery is tomorrow, any suggestions?

  10. Have you called your doctor? You seem to be in much more pain than I am. How many incisions did you get? I have one through the belly button and 2 others - 1 at port site and the other is higher. My gas has subsided and I haven't had to take pain medication since Tues, the day after surgery. Everyone has a different tolerance for pain - mine is very high. I have had so many operations that this one was a walk in the park.

I have a 4 oz protein shake in the morning for breakfast - about 13.5 grams of protein and a cup of decaf with 2 tablespoons of Coffee Mate. For lunch I have been having 1/2 an Isopure (20 grams protein) and a cup of cream soup - 2 gp. Yesterday I was hungry so I added a jello cup. Last night's dinner was another cup of cream soup (the 2nd part of the can) and the rest of the Isopure and an ice pop. I had coffee in the evening as part of my water in take.

  11. Are you drinking the fluids? That will also help you be less hungry. I also had about 4 oz of another protein shake late afternoon because I was hungry. You can do that to stave off the hunger.

Walk, walk, walk to get rid of the gas. I am off to the gym right now to use the treadmill - I am in FL so it is so hot here you can't walk around outside.

I really hope you are feeling better today. If you don't, please call your doctor in the morning. I have to return to work tomorrow - I wish I didn't have to and not due to the lap-band LOL. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

  12. Best of luck to you. It will be the best gift you can give yourself.

  13. Thanks for your reply to my blog. I am going to check out the website you suggested for food recipes. My husband does most of the cooking, but I will forward him stuff I would love for him to try.

I returned to the gym today. My last visit was on the 18th, just before my surgery. Today I weighed myself and to my great happiness and surprise I found I lost 7lb 4 oz. OMG. Thanks again.

  14. I wish you the best of luck tomorrow. Monday after my surger I was sore, mostly in the incision by the port through Tues. The gas was really the worst part, so walk, walk, walk and if you have a significant other ask them to massage the area that hurts. I walked back and forth in my condo, sipped my water and rested the first 2 days. It is wonderful. Good luck and keep in touch.

  15. You will do great. Keep walking and sipping your water to break of the gas after the surgery. Watch your diet and enjoy your journey. I am happier than I have been in years. This will be a great year for you so enjoy and keep us posted as to how your journey is going for you.

  16. Hi, Miami - I'm in North Miami. I was banded on June 21st, just 6 days ago. I am feeling really well. I have lost 7lbs 4oz since the 18th. How are you doing? Who banded you? I used Hollywood Bariatrics, Dr. Thomas Bass. Keep in touch.

  17. Cris, how are you doing? I was back to the gym today and lost 7lbs 4oz since 6/18. I can't believe it. I feel great and can't wait for mushy on Friday.

  18. Maggs, just wanted to let you know I am loving this lap-band. I was at the gym today and have lost 7lbs 4oz in 10 days. My last weight was taken on 6/18, banded 6/21 and today my heart nearly leapt out of my chest with the loss. How is your moving coming along?

  19. Today was my first day back to the gym and I weighed myself. I almost fell off the scale when I saw a 7lb 4oz weight loss. Can you believe it? I know it will slow down and I will need a fill, but this is the biggest loss I ever had in a 10 day period. I go to the surgeon on Tues. for my first checkup. I know I am doing great - I feel wonderful. How did your fill work out for you?

  20. Well, it has been 6 days since my surgery on the 21st. I feel wonderful. I was finally up to going to the gym today and did great. I walked 1.35 miles and did some upper body workout. When I stepped on the scale, the last time was the 18th, I almost fell over becuase I have lost 7 lbs 4 oz. I am just loving this band. First doctor's visit is coming on Tues. I am excited to see when he will want to do a fill. I start Mushy foods on Friday. I can't wait. How are you doing, your lucky dog?

  21. Hey Rose, how are you doing? So tell me, how are things since your fill? Do you feel restricted? How is your weight loss going? I hope all is great with you.

  22. How's your journey going? Today is my 6th day after surgery and have already lost 7lbs 4oz. I can't believe it. I will be on pureed foods on Friday - finally! I hope I remember how to use a fork. I see my surgeon on Tues. I can't wait to see where this journey leads me.

  23. So glad you liked the recipe. I reheated last night's leftover and it was great the 2nd day too!

How are you feeling? Hope you are doing well.

  24. Hi, Rose

Just returned from vacation and I can't figure out how to post to my blog. I don't like this new site - it is confusing.

Had a fabulous time in CT. While I was worried I would gain weight, I ate right and exercised and came home 3.1 lbs less. I couldn't have been happier. 2 lbs and I am in the Onderland. Now, If I can just figure out how to post, I'll be happy.
