I too am from the Houston area and will be having my revision from the band to sleeve on May 22nd with Dr. Garcia in TJ.

Maybe it is a southern thing because I'm all about my hair and makeup! I will be having my hair dyed and maybe a Brazilian blow out before the surgery (I have really curly hair and if its not tended too properly it will look like a rats nest!). Lol

One of my favorite sayings: "you can't fix stupid but you can numb it with a 2x4"!

I went to two different doctors who told me to gain 30 pounds before they would even submit to insurance which would put me back at my starting weight. Ummm no! I'm going to Tj Mexico on May 22nd to have my revision with Dr. Garcia! No hoops to jump thru there! Good luck to you!

Praise The Lord! I'm glad everything went well with the surgery and you are back home recovering. How I too can not wait to push that restart button on is journey. Congrats and I can't wait to be on that losers bench with you!

I am having my band to sleeve revision with Dr. Garcia on May 22nd. My two top choices were him and Dr. Aceves who is about twice the price but most experienced in the field in Mexico. Neither one pushed or tried to get me to have anything other than what I was requesting, the sleeve. Hope this helps!

Congrats! Glad all went well and this helps put me at ease as I will be seeing Dr. Garcia on the 22nd and I am excited!

I was getting anxious and just changed my date from May 31st to May 22nd. Only 20 days left!

When I was making my decision I was scare sh$!less about going to Mexico to have this done which is why I really preferred at that time to go with Aceves. Now that Aceves no longer offers the payment plan I can't afford the $10,500 price tag. That being I'm going to use a quote from my dad "That sometimes in life decisions get made for you" and this was one of those times. So I'm excited, putting my trust in God that he will guide Dr. Garcia's hand I'm my surgery, and hoping for the best!

This is also my life story with the band! Congrats on deciding to revise to the sleeve. I feel confident that this will be the tool that we were all looking for with the band but it didn't live up to those promises. I too will be revising on May 22nd and I can't wait! I hope you have a speedy recovery and keep us posted if you can!

I'm on the 22nd now and I can't wait! I have many different size clothes that I bought for the future with the band and I'm excited to put them on without spilling out of them! Lol thinking about getting my teeth whitened while I'm there.......

I read thru all of her post and it seems that she didn't receive the after care she hoped for at the hotel while she went alone and ended up with a horrible infection. This makes me glad that my husband is going with me and gave me some things to look out for. Thanks for posting this!

Apperantly what I am experiencing is normal when being filled to unfilled for about a week or so afterwards. Crazy that I felt better with my band filled!

Sorry Nanalisa I am just this. My band doctor is Dr. Hollis. I am scheduled for a revision in Mexico on May 31st but I had my band unfilled last week and I am miserable! I am having severe reflux, nausea and vomiting acid for several hours after I eat. I am thinking of calling Hollis tomorrow as I'm in pain and misery non stop.
