  1. Thanks for the sites. I'm starting the pouch test tomorrow. I'd never heard of it, but I'm going to give it a try. As for the fill centers the nearest one to me is a 5 hour drive one way and that's with good road conditions, which right now the Spokane area has been slammed with a 63 in total of snow, so no mountain pass driving for me. I did try another, twice, that was a little farther but a easier drive, they were unable to find my port and don't have flouro. I know a lot of my problems with eating is caused from the stress I'm under. I'm counting on all my LBT friends to help me over this and get me back on track.
  2. Your right I did spend time and money as I was self pay. The real bummer is the local band Dr. wants 2000 bucks up front for care. Which right now might as well be a million. Praying that the new year will turn things around. I was checked out 3 months ago and had no slip then, so I'm guessing that is still the case. I just have no restriction unless of course I eat to fast, things get stuck. I'd like to find some sort of support group near my home. But for now I'm turning to LBT for the support to help me get on track. Thanks for listening.
  3. Ok so I haven't posted in quite awhile due to disgust at myself. Its time for me to come clean and ask for help. Over the last year I have been holding my own with no loss but no gain until recently. I'm sure I need a fill but due to the economy and my business teetering on the brink of closure, I just don't have the funds to travel, let alone get fill. I'm sure my pouch has been stretched to a certain extent but I'm wondering can I start over. There's been days that I tell myself I'm going on liquids then I find myself eating something I really shouldn't. I've fallen into the old habits of diet soda, coffee with cream and sugar, a glass of wine at dinner etc. I really can't afford to go to a doctor so I'm asking for you opinions, and suggestions to get me back on track.
  4. I was banded in Mexico Mar 22, 07, I've lost 61 lbs, but have hit a stand still or maybe a brick wall would be more like it. Haven't lost a pound since last September. I don't need any negative nasty comments I'm giving myself enough of those already I just need some one who might like to talk, walk, exercise, etc with me to help get me started again. I haven't posted in such a long time due to the utter shame of not keeping on track. I would like to attend the support group at Holy Family but was not sure if its still going or not. If anyone is willing to reach out, message me.

  6. I had my fill by Dr Adrian Heap in Richland. He is very nice and not to expensive, $130.00 is what he charges, I think.
  7. Hi All, I was banded in Mexico and doing pretty well. I sure am glad to find there is a group out there for support. I can't seem to get my schedule to fit with the support group but I would love to get together some time. I walk the Valley Mall on a regular basis. It would be nice to have someone else to share with.
  8. I was a Office Manager to a very large church for what seemed like 100 years but now I'm a stay at home grandma and office manager of my husbands trucking company, 6 Pk Express.
  9. Maybe I'm kind of selfish but I won't give any of my things to my local goodwill. I've went from a size 30 pants to a 22 and a 44 to a large shirt. So I cut most of my old cloths up and made a big quilt out of them. I heard someone was going to start a clothing exchange, can't remember which site I saw it on.
  10. OK guys I need your opinion…. Here’s the deal, I went for a fill in June to come away with nothing, they could not find the port. OK I can deal with that. I went again Sept 1st, still unable to find / get into, what they thought was the port. They send me to fluoro to check to make sure my port was not flipped, it’s not. I was told even though I’ve lost 65 lbs I was still to fat to get to the port because they didn’t have long enough needles. (They only have 2 inch needles) I can deal with this too. Well… Where you come in is, I found another Dr. who does his under fluoro if needed. His fills are $130.00 his fluoro a extra $350.00 (not by his choice). I saw him on Sept 17th. After 1 hour of repeated poking he managed to put in 2 cc’s but when I stood up the needle came out. So he quit. He tells me when that if I would have had him do a sleeve I wouldn’t be having this problem. He also tells me, I need to have the excess fat carved off if I want to have easier future fills. A sort of tummy tuck and when I get to goal have another one. He also said my line is in front of my port and my port is to low…..He wants to reposition my port, while on the table. My question for you all is …. Does it sound like he just wants my money…. Have any one of you had this problem…. If my line is in front of my port don’t you think the other fluoro tech would have told me this??? This procedure all together cost me $570.00.… Fill, Fluoro, Fuel, and not to mention the 10 hours of drive time. I’m now wondering if I should just go back to Mexico and see my surgeon…. What do you all think????? I need your opinions….. And to add to this I really like the Dr.
  11. Thanks, I put a call into my surgeon and I think maybe I'll just make the trip. The fill Dr. basically wants to do a tummy tuck and then again when I get to goal. The fill center here has closed and there is supposed to be a new one opening but it will be another 2 to 3 hours to add to my drive. I had everything in order aftercare wise before surgery but they happen to be the center I saw the first 2 times so I gave up. My PCP is really good and very intune to the band so for everything but fills he's great.

  13. Dr Trotter in Spokane will do fills for mexico patients. Not sure if he uses flouro.. Also Dr Heap in Richland, Wa. does fills he charges 130. w/o flouro..
  14. Thanks ... went for my fill today procedure took from 2:00 to 4:30 had problems.. doc wants to do surgery to carve off some of the excess fat that is starting to hang and getting in the way of the port.. makes it hard to fill.
  15. Dr. Neal in the Olympia area does fills and I understand he does them under flouro. Check with Wendell. I 'm pretty sure thats his Dr.
  16. I feel kind of silly for not remembering but what are the eating rules before and after your fill. I'm getting a fill tomorrow and have been eating lite today and was wondering do I need to be on liquids today and on liquids for 2 days after.? What works best for you guys. I'm seeing a new fill Dr. and was given no rules from his nurse as yet.
  17. I had my surgery in March 07 and still have had no fill. I go for my first on the 17th. I've lost 65 lbs.
  18. I agree with Wasa. At this point most Docs are checking with you all the time to make sure everything is a go. I would pack up and run. There are many other docs out there that will almost hold your hand per-say. I went to Dr Huacuz, who called me personally like 4 times before and 3 times after. check around. Did you have to give them a deposit? If so I know this does make a difference. I only sent a small deposit so I could have backed out and not been hurt. Best of luck.. Keep us informed we are here for you.
  19. Your all so right, it is well worth it not to have the extra pounds hanging on, but my gosh when I get so cold my lips turn blue and my hands are numb. My hubby says turn up the heat but its not even really winter yet. I hate the thought of a huge power bill. Sorry I'm rambling. Thanks all for the support.
  20. Movies bother me but the one that really gets me is Jay Leno, My hubby watches him almost every night and he's seems to make jokes about heavy people quite often... He's no skinny mini himself, so where does he get off.
  21. Cindy, maybe I'll talk my mom into getting one and I'll try a few sips. Thanks for letting me know I'm normal.. Ha Ha. Losingjusme, I know what you mean about people thinking your nuts, when I was in Albuquerque a few weeks ago it was 100 degrees and I had a sweater on. Surfbored, I hadn't thought of that. I have strips so I checked and there is a trace. Thanks for the support..
  22. I can't seem to get warm. Its 80 degrees outside but I'm so cold my lips are blue. My friend said it was normal because of the weight loss. Have anyone of you had this happen, or Heavens forbid am I coming down with something. I was so cold last night I sat in the hottub for a hour.
  23. I use the playstation 2 eyetoy play 2 it has boxing along with other workouts. I also have the kinetic workout for ps2.
  24. I had the same thing happen but twice. Very disappointed to go away with no fill. I went to the hospital and did flouro just to see where the port was and its to deep, my doc only has 2 in needles and I need at least a 3 in. I found a doc about 5 hours away that will take me who has 3 in needles so I see him on Sept 17th. Wish me luck.
  25. I was wondering the same thing I go for my first fill on the 17th of September. My problem is I'm addicted to homemade chicken Taco salad, minus SC I use a little FF ranch.
