Lap Band in Mexico

Hi everyone!

Have any of you scheduled your surgery with the Tijuana Bariatric Group in Mexico? I went through "BeLite" and am having trouble getting them to respond to my calls, even though I am scheduled for Sept. 20th. I'm uneasy.:help:

Before you are banded is when you are treated the best by many docs. If you can't get their attention today, what will you do after surgery and you have a question?

What doctor are you going to? Who is TJ Bariatric group?

From what I've heard and read, Belite isn't getting good reviews. I wouldn't use them.

I've been reading the same thing but nobody is saying why they are not great. Didn't they used to be pretty good? What happened?

The

beLite people apparently set everything up for the surgery. They list their doctors as Webber,Gazayerli, Laker and Weiner. The receipt was signed by Joanne from BeLite. One of their e-mails also mentioned Dr. Juan Lopez Corvala. They say that I will have my surgery at Los Angeles Hospital in Tijuana if my medical questionnaire looks okay. If my surgery is the 20th, I need to make flight arrangements now or pay last minute fees. Has anyone used these doctors? Thanks

I agree with Wasa. At this point most Docs are checking with you all the time to make sure everything is a go. I would pack up and run. There are many other docs out there that will almost hold your hand per-say. I went to Dr Huacuz, who called me personally like 4 times before and 3 times after. check around. Did you have to give them a deposit? If so I know this does make a difference. I only sent a small deposit so I could have backed out and not been hurt. Best of luck.. Keep us informed we are here for you.

I know that they used to contract with Dr. Kuri to promote him and for a variety of reasons they no longer maintain that contract. I knew they were advertising for others but I didn't know who it was.

I've heard a lot of info regarding belite lately. Not sure what the problem is. Is the doc's office at least calling you? If not, I'd seriously consider finding a doc that does take the time to stay in touch.

I vaguely remember reading stuff about Belite (at least, I think it was Belite - it could have been another group with a similar name) that was very unfavorable, back when I was first looking into surgery. I don't want to go into details about what I heard, just because I'm not 100% sure that it was that group.
