  1. Hi everyone, I posted this here due to the fact I had no replies on the other forum and need your input. What do you think? The last few days everytime I eat my back hurts. This AM for example, I took a small bite of sausage, (which I've eatin several times before) chewed well and by the time I took a second bite my back hurt, like right at my spine in the middle of my shoulders. I felt like I was going to puke but didn't . I figured it was stuck so I took some papaya enzyme. I've not had my first fill yet. I've heard that stress can make you more restricted, but even when your not filled yet? My life has been very stressful the last week or so. I'm even stressing more on this because now I wonder if this is what people mean when they have a band slip? I always thought that if it was a slip, you would have chest pain, am I a odd one? I decided to stay on liquid for a few days but even water is uncomfortable to swallow, I have to take little sips like in the beginning. Has anyone had this happen, I'd like to hear from you. __________________

  3. I had the same problem but my port incision popped open and drained for weeks, it finally has healed up. I find if I rollover at night some times it still pulls the muscle and hurts like the devil, but for the most part everything is good. So rest assured it will go away, some people take longer then others but it will get better. Bets of luck
  4. I used my income tax return and saved my last three checks then went to Mexico. The way I figured it was the Dr. here had way less experience and a higher complication rate then the one in mexico, so mexico it was for me. Well worth it to.
  5. The person that does fills for our area does not have flouro. I was told I have to be able to feel my port but now I'm worried that what I'm feeling is scar tissue. I was told it was like 2 fingers below my incision, what about yours? I think I can feel it when I stand up but not when I lay down. Is this common?
  6. I was able to drink coffee but only 1 per day. But check with your Dr. as everyone is different.
  7. You can put it under the goals but I think its easier to track using the food intake. I wish on the color wheel they would have put a color for water.
  8. I had the same problem with the water intake but then after using the fitday program,( http://www.fitday.com )I found I was getting my liquids. Also my doc says drink up to the meal then wait one hour after to drink again, I started setting a timer. It worked for me, you might try it. Good luck
  9. This made my day. It reminded me of my grandfather, who lived to 103. Thanks for sharing.
  10. Yes, that must be what she ment. Krem 2 did a story on him. I'm in Moses alot, my parents live in Lakeview and I came from Odessa. I'm going to Richland for my fills. Maybe we can carpool, if thats where you decide to go. keep me posted on your journey.
  11. They are mistaken about Dr. Trotter he has done 100's when he was in Arizona, I think thats where he's said he was from. I was not impressed with his office staff they don't seem to have a clue so I spoke with him myself. Part of the problem is the girl that handled everything quit to work somewhere else and the girl that took her place didnt even know what a lapband was. So Sad. I complained to the admin office. He told me he is also willing to do followup for mexico patients.
  12. Dr. Huacuz took it but I guess no more due to patients not following thru and paying. Youu need to get on the phone and call the different docs maybe they will set up something private for you. Good Luck
  13. I put my meds in sf ff pudding. My doc said it would be fine since your only using a spoonful or so. I tried jello but that was the worst thing I could have done, it burned my throat for days. Good Luck
  14. I eat chicken cooked very slow at low heat so to keep moisture, steak or deli roast beef the trick is chew 30 times per tiny bite. turkey roast - cook in crock pot very moist, tuna with tbsp mayo. I cut my meat into pieces the size of half a dice and I use a baby spoon. I also have farina for breakfast, I've been told its a lot like grits. One thing to remember is everyone is different and something might work one day but not the next. I also keep chewable papaya enzyme tablets on hand just in case and it does help with digestion. best of luck
  15. The same thing happened to me because I was in Ketosis. To find out just go to your local pharmacy and buy some ketone strips and follow instructions. Easy and cheap way to find out. But just to ease your mind you might make a Dr appt to be checked. This is just my opinion.
  16. Hi, TheLid I live in the Spokane area, where are you, there is a new Doc in Spokane, he's not new to the band, just the area. His name is Dr Trotter, his number and address is Valley Outpatient Surgery Center 1414 N. Houk Rd, Suite 204 Spokane, Wa. 99216 phone 509-922-0362 or call his office 344-3100 and in Post Falls is Dr John Pennings @ http://www.sbnsurg.com There are few others also but these 2 seem to have the best reps.
  17. I was the same way as you and X-ray. One of our fellow lapbanders suggested I play with my calories a bit. A day or 2 at 800 the next 1000 and so on back and forth. It worked for me I'm back on track and watching the scale drop. I do try to stick to a low fat low carb high protein menu. I panicked when the scale didn't move like you but there could be many reasons, like waste, water retention, pms, etc. Don't get discouraged, "It will come off" is what I keep saying to myself. I go for my first fill on May 5th. I know I'm newly banded but this is what I've been told and read and is only my opinion. IT WILL COME OFF Don't worry be happy.
  18. I went to Dr Huacuz cost was 7500 w/o airfare. As for the money I took 300 and used very little. 10.00 for taxi, tip included 2 times so 5. each trip. 10. for extra juice at airport and 10. for airporter tip.
  19. I flew 4 days after surgery, I'd take pain meds before boarding. Even though the cabins are pressurized, the pain increased the higher we got. Maybe it was just me but just in case. I had to have one of the stewards get my bag down to get my pain meds. I was in tears by the time we landed. So just be prepared. I hope you don't have this happen to you. Best of luck.
  20. I got banded March 20th in Tj. Had a wonderful Dr (Huacuz) and Staff to meet all my/sons needs. I'll tell you the story. While in Tj, my son was kidnapped, beaten, stripped of his clothes, had knife held to his throat. druggies took all his cash, debit card, emptied our bank account, took cell phone, thankfully after several hours the head druggie let him go with his jeans and shoes. I was in a panic when he did not return as scheduled. So this is the warning part, don't go shopping by yourself even if its only a few blocks from the hospital. We flew home a few days later me thanking the lord my son was with me. I'm dropping on average 1 lb a day and very pleased with my progress. Please whatever you do be careful.
  21. I live in the NW and as beautiful as Alaska is I would rather go somewhere warm. But really it doesn't make much difference to me or my family. Thanks, I'll plan on attending 08 cruise.
  22. Thanks All, I tried mixing up the calories and carbs and this morning the scale is on its way back down again. Thanks for the support. I guess I panicked a little to soon. As I said, Thanks All, for the support. YOUR THE BEST
  23. Thanks for the replies. I try to weigh about every three days because I'm afraid of the weight sneaking up on me. I would rather see 2 lbs than 10 lbs. Thanks for reminding me that muscle weighs more and to measure myself and that there are other reason. I forgot the possible whys and focused on the scale. Thanks for being there.
  24. Thanks for your replies. I try to weight about every three days. I do this because I'm afraid if I weigh less often then it will sneak up on me and instead of being a couple of lbs it will be 10. Thanks for reminding me that muscle weighs more and to measure myself, I forgot about all the other whys and just focused on the scale. Thanks again for being there.
  25. Ok so heres the problem, not a big one to most, but to me its big. I'm following my post op diet as instructed, watching the fat and carb content and I gained 2 pounds. I'm just barely eating 800 cals a day, cant hardly force myself any more than that. So what am I doing wrong. I was losing about 1 lb a day, I expected it to slow down but to go the other way has got me really really REALLY upset. I don't get my first fill until May 5th, 3 weeks away. I do know I'm not exercising much yet, due to years of not and bad knees and still very sore in port area, but I am doing a small 10 minute all body routine each day. I know give up the excuses and get off your a**. Help me get back on track.
