So I have not written in a while. I got my cast off. Yeah!!! I am feeling good. I have lost 30lbs so far. The weight was falling off in the beginning. However now I am slowing down. I am finding that I am able to eat more now. So I have been pushing the limits. Been cheating a little as far as breads go. I gave up bread and lately I have been having a slice here and there. NOT good for this girl to be messing with bread. I am really worried about not getting the results I need from this surgery. However 30 lbs is a very good amount of weight in 2 months. I just dont want it to stop coming off.

Hello. Its been a few since I have written. I have been going through alot these past weeks. So I am on day 22 post op. I am feeling much much better in regards to my lap band surgery and the development of a seroma. My seroma is almost all healed up and just about all closed completly. I found a new Dr here in my town. Dr. Billy is going to take over my care. He had me remove all the packing my other Dr was putting into the hole from my seroma. Within a week I have gotten totally better. I have lost 21 lbs!!!! So very happy about that. Now I am dealing with a 2nd surgery that I had 2 days ago on my elbow. I have been waiting for this surgery for a long time. Its hopfully a solution to a repetitive motion injury from over a year ago. So, i have deffentlly been through alot in a month. However, i am still focused on loosing weight for good and getting healthy. I will write again soon. xoxoxo

You are in my prayers. I am going threw simular situtation. Not quite the same. But I feel your frustration. I am 10 days post op. I had my lap band surgery on 05/22/2010. Just 5 days after surgery I started having fever and alot of pain and swelling and redness at the insision where the port went. After 2 trips to Urgent care and 1 trip to ER I was dx with a seroma with possible infection. I had it drained out and everyday since last Thursday have had to haave the packing changed. I am doing good on the weightloss aspect of things and that keeps me going. However, I am worried that I am facing more surgery. I had my surgery in Mexico and I live in California, so its not so easy to get the follow up care that I need. I am frustrated about that. I am going to see my lap band dr in mexico in 2 weeks and hoping and praying for good news. So I need prayers as well please. Let's pray for eachother. I am here for ya anytime you need to chat. It's difficult and frustrating going threw uncertin medical issues. Keep your head up, and remember that life is good and that this will pass eventually.

Hello Christy, I am going threw the exect same thing right now. I am so so grateful to stumble across your post. I dont feel so alone now. I have been ready to beark down. I have been really doubting weather or not I should have done this surgery. I have the open wound over and port and its totally gross. I am going to get it repacked today. Yuck and OUCH !! It hurts so bad. Thank you again for your post.

Hi Bamagirl64. I have my surgery 3 days ago. I am super sore and have had slight fever on and off. Is this normal? Did you have any fever after your surgery. I had my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Rod as well. He was great ! His staff were friendly and really caring. I had great expierence while I was there. I am just a bit worried about the fever going up and down. I was told I need to get my first fill in 4-6 weeks. It sounds a bit extream to me that a Dr wants to fill that much. However, that is an American Dr for ya. They are a bit extream in my opion. That is why I have not went to the ER for my fever yet. I do not want to risk them wanting to take my band out. I hope all works out of you.

I really want to get this surgery. Mexico is a good choice for me, for many reasons.However I really need to hear from someone who has been to INT Hospital or know of Dr. Rodriguez. I would really appreciate any kind of feed back. Thank you
