  1. I may have licked a dorito or 2 when I was on all liquids for the first 2 weeks and I couldn't handle it anymore!! I'm doing just fine, and it got me over the slope! Now that I'm on mushy and soft foods, I don't have the feeling that I 'need' to do that! I think when I originally got my lapband 10 years ago I crunched up a wheat thin and spit it out. Sometimes you just gotta do whatcha gotta do... just make it an exception, not the rule! [emoji1]
  2. @cokegirl did you weigh yourself when you got out of the hospital? I had gained 9 lbs from IV fluids and swelling... I eventually lost that and I'm also down 19 lbs from my surgery date (12/9/16). Have you had a follow up with your Surgeon and Dietician?

HIPAA violation: What would you do?

Hi, I am a RN, and in my experience, she did right to ask you to shred. We would ask that, or for it to be sent back. It happens to the best of us, and I can assure it never happened again! (I faxed the patient's test results to the wrong number.. or something along those lines!) But it should be reported to management because a report is usually filed for their records, and also to talk to the employee regarding issue and further training if needed.
  4. Good luck to everyone having surgery today! If I were smart, I would have done it after Christmas as well... but, thinking like that is what got me this way in the first place! [emoji38]
  5. Are you on protein shakes yet? I think I narrowed it down to that... the taste in my mouth was God awful in the morning! Ick! I've brushed my teeth and tongue way more than I usually do.. might be helping...
  6. I got it!! This site is a little weird.. still trying to figure it all out myself!

    pureed food ideas

@@OhHeyMarina thanks for the great recipes! I just started on oatmeal, applesauce, and stuff like a red creamer potato... so maybe I can incorporate at least the ricotta melt, because oatmeal is going to get old fast! Lol
  8. I am 2 weeks out today, and if I drink my protein shakes too fast... it happens. The first time was INTENSE and my stomach hurt for about an hour... I almost went to the ER it was so bad! I took everything I thought that would relieve it! Finally I was able to lay on my left side in bed, and the intense pain subsided not too long after... I still drink it EXTREMELY slow
  9. @@L.T. I am all choked up and have tears in my eyes as I read your daughter's story. I am a RN, and what this AL done is MALPRACTICE. I can't believe the lawyers say you do not have a case. Are they basing it on the Xelerto alone, and because she didn't die?? I would sue the Dr. directly for malpractice and negligence. He took an oath to do no harm, and although sometimes there's no way to prevent things, her untreated internal bleeding was extremely negligent. Keep calling until you find someone who will listen to you! I am 2 weeks out, and my recovery has been difficult, so I just can't imagine all of the other stuff she's been going through as well! [emoji27] I will keep your daughter and you in my prayers.. Please, if you ever need to talk, don't hesitate to send me a message!
  10. Hi!! I got a conversion from the lapband to the sleeve on Dec 9th! He also fixed a large hiatal hernia and removed my gallbladder! I can tell you that this site helped me tremendously! My recovery has been not so fun, and at times I kept saying why'd I do this to myself! [emoji31] I felt as though someone jumbled up everything in my abdomen and threw it back in! Haha That feeling is definitely getting better! Following this liquids and then full liquids has been... for a lack of better words, tough! I'm looking forward to Christmas Eve where I can advance to a red mashed potato and oatmeal! I've never been so excited in my life!! I'm also 15 lbs down since surgery... yay!! Please add me to group, or I'll try to find on computer tomorrow!! We are our best support! ☺
