    Carnation Instant Breakfast?

I use it and add protein to it. 1/2 serving of Dutch Chocolate Cake protein from Bariatric Eating. It wasn't available for me until the 3rd week. But enjoyed it!
  4. Take it slow and listen to your body. No means no more! Stick to your post op orders, they are written based on experience. Best of luck!

    Nurse Bandsters?

One thing most of these replies had in common was that everybody was afraid of becoming a stereotype. I am a CST and for sure, I always felt like I didn't fit up at the table. Like some of you, I have seen what biscuits can do to a belly, back, bones, feet, and oh the hernias that I have seen in larger patients! The ulcers, the hardend vessels and plaque removals, oh and the bypasses.....Like you, I just didn't want to be one. Knowing all about general surgery, staples and roux en y surgeries (which aren't just done for weight reduction) I was terrified of the risks. Lap Band, while rather new to me is the best choice I have made. No regrets, no depression and no struggles with food. No cravings and little hunger. I feel blessed! Congrats to you who feel the same. I was back at work within 5 business days. My only issue is trying to get in the H20 while being scrubbed most of the day. Any suggestions?

    Post op constipation

I didn't have one for a week and wasn't constipated. Just a liquid diet day before surgery along with a bowel prep and clear liquids afterwards...there wasn't any substance to form stool! Once I started eating mushie....I started making poo!

    Swimming, taking a bath?

My post op instructions were not to swim or take a bath for 6 weeks. Blah! My incision has closed nicely since July 21. Not quite sure about why the wait for the bathing but the swimming is because the cut through my abdominal muscles. They need time to heal. Oh, and the stitches....they absorb with in 2-4 weeks, depending on what kind they used sub-cuticular.
  11. Hey!! How are YOU?

    Microwave eggs?

Sure do microwave eggs and egg beaters. I put mine in a mugg with a squirt of milk, pepper and zap for 40 seconds, take out, stir, and zap again. Quick and easy. If you are worried about the salmonella...don't be. Salmonella is found on the egg shell, not inside the egg. So, if you wash up after cracking you should have no problems.

    woo hoo 1st NSV

I can't wait to start a regiment of exercise. My band was installed on 7/21 and I was told no exercise for 6 weeks. I have been doing dancing from Just Dance, the Wii game but nothing hard core. Doc will be pissed if I bust my stitches which should all be just about absorbed by now.

    so thirsty!

Karma! I am with you too! I had my band installed on 7/21. I was sooo thirsty at one point and I started drinking small sips...then the nausea came, then I vomited. Won't do that again! I have made ice cubes from crystal light.....and the sugar free pops have held me up. Jello too since I can savor it before I swallow. Good luck!
