Thank you soooo much for sharing so openly & honestly! I needed to hear that because I know I have food "issues" also. I am in a 12 step group already and have been for almost 20 yrs, but for alcohol (something you can totally abstain from). I am on antidepressants for chronic pain, but hope to get off of alot of meds (diabetic, HTN) etc. after my surgery. I still feel this is the best option to help me recover from morbid obesity but needed to hear about your journey. You sound like you are addressing your fears, anxiety and "issues"....In other words your right where you are supposed to be and this too shall pass. Life is life none of us will ever be perfect, but progress is close enough for today! Congrats to walking through the fear and taking the actions necessary to recover and live a life intended for you...to be Happy, joyous & free! Hi Christie, I always thumb through new pics on here. They are so exciting to see before & after photos. I'm still a before gal too. I'm shooting for May 18th for the sleeve. Holli, It was good to meet you too! Glad you found the website, it's such a fantastic tool! I will not be at May's meeting. As long as things go as planned (getting time off from work is the only thing that would change things) I will be having surgery the day before, Tues. May 18th. I'm so ready for that day to come! Wondering if you're going to the support meeting tonight 4/14 @ Baylor Plano. I have not been sleeved but have a tentative date of May 18th.

I'm am having to pay all out-of-pocket. The surgery is excluded on my insurance. My only hold up is work. I am waiting because they didn't have anyone to cover for me in April. I have high hopes that May 18th will be the Day! I want to start my pre-op diet early, because just as some of you have said...I've been emotionally eating (not anything new) knowing my surgery is coming up. My pre-op is 1200 calorie diet with protein drinks & 1 meal a day. I also want to get off the sugar before the surgery too! I hate those dt headaches. -

Just like you, I'm Pre-OP. Never been banded, sleeved, etc. just out of control LOL. I have a housemate from England. I think he's from Liverpool area. I'll find out. Good to meet you and I hope we both share in an Exciting Journey of self discovery & weight loss!!!! talk with you soon, Sheryl

Hi Gloria my date is May 19th. I also have DM 2, not on insulin but I do take Metformin & Glubideride(?) . I'm getting excited & nervous because I know this is going to be a major lifestyle change. I know it's all for the better, so as long as I can hold onto that...I also am on meds for High cholesterol & hypertension. that is why I'm doing this to become healthy & happier! I was wondering if anyone has used "juicing" pre/post surgery. I've been watching the commercial for Jack lalane? juicer. What do post surgery folks think about that? Thanks for your response!

This is the first time I'm blogging, anywhere... My Director called me yesterday to tell me he can't approve my time off in April for my Surgery. I work at a hospital that excludes the surgery so I will be self pay. He is tiny and doesn't feel the same as I do about this surgery...imagine:001_rolleyes:. I do believe nothing happens by mistake so I am not going to let this get me down. My new date I'm shooting for is May 18th. I've just figured out how to get into the blogs and hope I continue to blog(journal). Thanks for sharing your thoughts, feelings & ideas to all! It Helps!!!:scared0:

When is your surgery date? I'm using Dr. Nick also. How's the pre-op eating plan going? Are you having surgery at Baylor Plano or Forest Park surgery center?

:thumbup1:Yes, had a great weekend! Sorry I missed you. I'm sure ya'll had a great time Saturday. Thanks for the note and would definitely like to hook-up in the summer. That will be fun since I'm scheduled for surgery on May 18th as long as things are covered at work. Since they look at this as elective surgery, my Manager has already had me cancel my first date.
But I'm thinking positive thoughts because I'm so ready to get started on my Happy Destiny

Sugar is somewhere between 4-5. She is a rescue dog that became my baby June 2008. So glad to see another schnauzer lover! Have an awesome Monday!
