Disappointment?

This is the first time I'm blogging, anywhere... My Director called me yesterday to tell me he can't approve my time off in April for my Surgery. I work at a hospital that excludes the surgery so I will be self pay. He is tiny and doesn't feel the same as I do about this surgery...imagine:001_rolleyes:. I do believe nothing happens by mistake so I am not going to let this get me down. My new date I'm shooting for is May 18th. I've just figured out how to get into the blogs and hope I continue to blog(journal). Thanks for sharing your thoughts, feelings & ideas to all! It Helps!!!:scared0:

LAP-BAND Patients

This is my first healthcare related job and I too work for a hospital.. Their health coverage does not cover WLS either- imagine??? I have never encountered attitudes toward sick time and medical leave as I have in this community. I would have thought that the insurance coverage would have covered anything and everything, and time off for medical leave (unpaid) would be a given. Go figure.

Great attitude, and you'll get your surgery. I hope the time flies by for you, and can only imagine the frustration with being denied time off. Keep blogging, it's fun, it's an outlet, and it's a great place to dump all of emotions and thoughts out.

I'm not sure what kind of Job you have but I had 3 days off plus the weekend and was back to work. I also was a self pay and my wife would not let me go to Mexico so I went to Vegas with Dr Umbach and had such a easy surgery I felt no pain from the surgery at all. Good luck with what you do.... it is worth it.
