    Husband not supportive

I am sorry that your husband is not supportive -- neither was mine. Not at ALL.. don't let that stop you. It's not HIm you are doing this for, it's YOU. My husband was so disgusted with my having the surgery he didnt' want ANYTHING to do with it, I had to go through it all without him, and on my own. I am all alone here, far from homoe.. have no family but him so I hired a "Medical Escort" to take me home from the Endoscopy, and then the Surgery waiting time, with instructions to call my aunt if anything happend, and finally to bring me to the train to ride home when I was released from the hospital. So... if you are committed to doing this for YOU, without any support, on your own. go for it. Join your doctor's support group. Talk to people on this forum and ask for help.. don't let fear of disapproval keep you from your dream. AND I AM NOT SORRY!! HA HA HA... now he compliments me and we never talk about those "bad days." It's not easy, but you are worth it. BE STRONG, be your own best friend.

I absolutely regret having this surgery

I am so sorry you are feeling so ill. Definitely ask for help... my doctor gave me this super duper NEXIUM powder that kept me from feeling so sick. The first month is the worst, but you'll always have to be careful how much you eat. Be patient, and keep getting on the scale. Every day is a pleasant surprise.. that's why you did this, right??? Good luck.
  3. Happy 62nd Birthday gorainy@hotmail.com!

  4. Hi, Bandsters... I am so grateful for this supportive, informative site. Here's my insurance question. I am just beginning to collect all the paperwork I am reading is needed for iins. approval, have a Psyc interview scheduled, go to the seminar tomorrow, etc. Because I have Aetna PPO, I see that they want a 3-month diet... but, last year I did a ONE YEAR medically supervised diet with a nutritionist and pills, and got a letter at the end of it recommending bariatric surgery b/c I only lost 18 pounds even tho I followed their diet for a year. Do you think this will count? And if so, how should I write that up? I really dont' want to wait another three months to get the same answer. Thanks! Newbie..

    Hello Everyone :]

Hi Dana, I have just begun my journey too. Question: How tall are you??? That will affect your BMI. Have you got approvals yet?

    Eating Questions!!!!

Yes, I do agree with all of you that eating too much of the wrong foods is the most common problem for many of us. HOWEVER, in addition to that, I have a sluggish metabolism and even when I have dieted, I find that in order to actually lose weight, I must eat even less than the diet prescribes... even with exercise. I think that many of us here also are victims of metabolic imbalance -- just like a person with bipolar disease is a victim of chemical imbalance in the brain. For me, to achieve lifelong slimness would be to really starve myself for the rest of my life. That's where the Band will help me.
