  4. Hi everyone, I'm new to all of this and will be having my surgery sometime in October 2010 (if my calculation is accurate). I had a heart attack in January, which was defiantely a wake-up call for me. This is a great post question and I want to add that I want the following from my weight loss: I want to: 1) Be able to cross my legs 2) Have more self confidence 3) Be able to jog (or run) if I choose to do so 4) Look sexy in the clothes I wear 5) Be an inspiration to others who have weight issues 6) See losing weight as my own inspiration to accomplish other things in my life that I've put off or didn't think I could do 7) Decrease or banish the effects of my diabetes, high blood pressure, cysts on ovaries and the devasting effects of PCOS, such as thinning hair, growing a FULL beard (I'm female!), high cholesterol, and whatever bad thing is lying in wait inside of my body due to the excess weight (future disease) Thanks for sharing, everyone - sometimes I feel so all alone in all of this but I see now that I'm not.
  5. Hi there, I'm new to the group and the procedure and still trying to find my way around. I am also thinking my surgery will be in October 2010 and I'm likewise very impatient. I'm going to use these months to get as much information as i can and gather some tips that will help me when that time comes. I just had my first visit with my nutritionist yesterday (4/28) and have to wait 6 months as well. She tells me to be patient and before you know it the time will fly, but i'm really ready to make this change in my life. I know i'll become very nervous as the time approaches, however, but that's to be expected. I'm so glad to have found this community and look forward to making some new friends as well. Thanks so much for all of the advice and information that you all are providing to us newbies.

    Newbie here

Hi Everyone, I'm also new here and wanted to introduce myself to everyone. This is my first time in the forum so I'm just trying to learn my way around. I live in Nevada and I just had my first session with the nutritionist yesterday (Wednesday 4/28) as my insurance company wants me to to 6 months of supervised nutrition first. I've only lost 2 pounds on the diet she gave me (which i'm really not following anyway-just doing some walking around the park), but it just makes me even more determined to do the lapband, which i calculate will be sometime in October. The nutritionist tells me to just be patient. I'll be using this time to get more acquainted with the procedure and I hope to meet some new friends along the way.
