  1. My doctor made me get unfilled. He said he likes to have all the fluid out of the band by 6 week pregnant if possible to ensure you get enough nutrients for your growing baby. I had the unfill right at 6 weeks and I'm now 11 weeks. I can definately tell a difference in how much I can eat.
  2. Hi, I was banded on 12/2/2010. I have been feeling good. I had a lot of restriction at first because of the swelling, but not so much now. I go on Jan. 13th for my first fill. I am worried about not having a big change appetite with my first fill. I have lost about 10 pounds post op but it seems to have slowed down. Have you started any exercise yet?
  3. My surgeon requires an EGD prior to surgery to check for hernias. Had mine Monday, go for follow up on Thursday. He said if I had a severe hernia they could not do lap band but if it was a small one they can repair during surgery.
  4. Hi, I am currently seeing Dr. Bali at Thomas Memorial Hospital in WV for my required 6 months of visits pre LAP-BAND® and only have one left. I work at Charleston Area Medical Center and have BCBS insurance. I am worried about problems with my insurance paying for the surgery since it is not a CAMC doc. Has anyone else had this concern or problem? I absolutely love Dr. Bali and his staff they are wonderful. I hate the thoughts of having to see a different doctor and starting all over.
