@ Bella71>>> Me too, Monday is my official day and has been for 10 months:smile2:
@ Kimaly>>>:laugh:lmao @ scale Whore!! I might hafta steal that phrase! Love it!! :tongue2:
I've been creeped out and tortured by my bathroom scale for soooo long, it's almost scary that now it doesn't bother me too much. I don't feel as intimdated by it!

I've used a food diary everyday, since October of '09. I write down everything I eat and how I'm feeling. I even put down times and how hungry I am. I feel more obsessed with food now then before I started this journey. I can see the pros and cons of using a journal.
-
I'm in Bandster Hell...I am more hungry now then before my 1st fill which. My stomach growls mostly at night..drives me batty!! Every now and then I have restriction and do the "urp" thing. I'm so confused!:cursing: I can't wait until next month when I get fill #2, maybe then my sometime restriction will be more consistant.

So I was on the phone with my best friend the other day (who is incredibly super skinny, even after two kids), and my daughter (4 1/2) walks in and says, "Mom, why aren't you skinny..." me:"Shhhhh", Daughter: "Why aren't you skinny?, huh mom? Why are you not skinny?" I wanted to DIE of embarrassement and shame! I Know she doesn't mean any harm by saying that, she is just curious, but I was so hurt and so sad, and I just KNOW my super skinny georgeous friend heard it all!Reminds me of the time I was walking with my nephew (who was 5yrs at the time) to the park. He looked up at me and asks, "Aunt T..are you fat?" He had such a serious/worried look on his face that I almost cried. I told him the truth and said "Yeah..I'm bigger then I should be." My other embarrassing moment was when I was a senior in high school and we had an "underground" newspaper (you know the kind...rips into, gossips and insults people) Me and this young man were voted "MOST RESEMBLES A WEEBLE". I laughed it off but it sooooo hurt that it still pops into my head now and again when a pair of pants or top doesn't look right on me ( I have a short waist and long legs)....but now that I'm banded and on the right track!! :w00t: I just wish I would've done this 10 or 15yrs ago!!
-
Congrats!!! Welcome to the banded club!! Your body will tell you when and how much you need. Take it slow but it sounds like you're off to a great start!!
p.s. Popcicles made me feel fuller longer and gave me that "chewing" sensation. Helped tons!!!!

I agree with Lose....call around on new insurance. Also have your current general practitioner document EVERYTHING and EVERYTIME you go in to see him/her! Talk to your doctor and let him/her know that your coverage is being a pain, they may be able to help you with that! I was told by a surgeon once that it's all in the way he writes it to insurance.
Hope it goes well!! Good luck!

I've noticed a big change too in bm's. I'm running right out to the store after work and getting some of the fiber Gummy chews!! Thanks for the advice!
-
I totally relate to the chocolate cravings!!:w00t: I will do the same thing..small piece of chocolate, a special K Protein Bar (for that "candy bar" feeling) or a low-cal hot chocolate and I'm good to go! If you try and ignore that craving, it'll just get worse. So enjoy a treat now and again!!

Awsome!!:smile2: Can I have your autograph?! You look fab-tab-ulous!
-
The 1st time I put my uniform on for work my 1st day back after surgery. I was 2wks post-op and down about 20-somthing lbs....AWSOME!!!
-
I'm in for 10lbs!!
-
Hope all you moms out there are having an AWSOME day!!! I lost 4.4lbs out of 10...not complaining!! It's fabulous!! I'm now setting a personal goal of 5lbs by June 7th (date of my 2nd fill). The scale keeps getting less and less scary!!!
-
I had surgical glue too. I had a bit of trouble with one site (infection and popped open 2x). It's healing well though, not worried at all about it. Scars don't scare me:wink2:. As far as the salt Water, I would just cover it if you aren't sure. A good large bandaid or waterproof gauze pad of some sort should do!! Enjoy your vacation!!

3 words>>>>>> I hit puberty:glare: I was heavy from age 9 to present...and like you all the up and down yo-yo diet thing. I don't think there was ever a time in my teen/adult life that I was less than 125lbs (I'm only 4'10"). Even the last few yrs I've been on a calorie restricted diet and still managed to gain 30lbs. It's a bummer that I never did banding sooner:crying:. I'm thrilled with my results so far and looking forward to a great summer!!

I found this recipe at HUNGRY-GIRL.com. I tried it last week with Skippy Natural Peanut Butter ( a bit higher in calories but awsome on carbs and protein) and it's very good! 'Specially the pbcream part!! My bf is a diabetic so needless to say we BOTH were excited and satisfied with this treat!!

I just saw a product called BENEPROTEIN by NestleNutrition. Has anyone heard of or tried this??? I'm thinking about ordering it to see what is it's any good? Guess you can never have enough Protein Powder in the home

That's AWSOME!!! I'm jealous !! LOL I have my first fill on Monday and really looking forward to it. I can't wait until I get to post on here that I'm down 50! Can't complain tho, I haven't gained anything:thumbup:!

I have CCS which is an affiliate of BCBS and I had to do the 6 months....wouldn't change a thing because I learned so much in that time!

-
I'm at a standstill also ! I just can't seem to get my butt moving for anything other then work. Go for my first fill next Monday...so we'll see:blush: Hope everyone has a better loss week!
-
Naww..the 1st wk was to get stuff done around the house. The 2nd was surgery and recovery. I work at a hospital as a phlebotomist (I draw patient's blood for labs) and I run all around the place. I should've taken my time back. I was hurtin' a bit but it's all good:wink2:! Let your body tell you what to do. If you need more time, take it!
-
I look at that product almost every time I'm at the grocery store and I've heard about other people liking it! I'll have to try it. My NUT recommended GLUCERNA. It was made for diabetics and most of her patients love it. It's really very good, especially ice cold!
-
I had no intention of anyone knowing except family, boyfriend(obviously) and 1 very close friend. Work knew I was taking 2 wks off for "vacation". I came back and the rumors flew (cuz I did lose about 20lbs in that 2 wks). This past week my boss flat out said "OH...I someone told me you had LapBand surgery!! You look great!" I asked her who said that :blink:and of course she couldn't remember...now just about everyone (the gossips) now know. I wish I could've kept it private...but LOL whatever:rolleyes2:!!
-
Yup I did! Had all of those thoughts: Am I doing the right thing? Do I really want this thing forever? What are people gonna think when/if they find out?? What if it doesn't help......etc, etc.....
I did it anyway...and don't regret anything! I'm one of those that are in a bit of a standstill at pounds lost, but I didn't do it just for weight loss, my health was a HUGE decision maker for me. I was getting really ill from elevated blood pressure, edema, pre-diabetic....Think of the health part of it all! After a few lbs lost, I feel WONDERFUL!!
Just remember to make sure it's what you really want at this point in your life. If you have any questions or doubts, put it off for awhile until you are completely ready. No one will think badly of you! Good luck at whatever you decide!

LOL  Yup!! Tall people on here!! I'm 4'10" and my goal is 130, for comfort not really size. I'm too stocky of a gal to be "petite"!!
