  1. ARRRRRGGGGGG I am exactly one week post op today. I weighed this morning and I have lost .4 lbs. ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS!!!!! I'm trying not to freak out. Even if I did it wouldn't help anything. My belly is still sore and a bit swollen and distended. I guesse I can blame it on that.... but I really wanted a big loss at least the 1st week. I can relate to you wannalise.... theres a weird part of my brain that believes I should have come home from the hospital thin. We'll be fine? :lol0:
  2. swiftflow...goodlife....bjean..... Thinking of you today. Let us know how your doing!
  3. Congradulations Wendy. You'll love it over here. :lol0:
  4. I had fajitas and one too many margaritas the night before I started my preop diet. It was glorious. Its so exciting to think of all the things that life can be. Outdoors.... camping.... hiking.... biking..... all the stuff I used to do. We're gonna be fabulous!!!! (congats on the "no preop diet" thing....mine sucked) take care stacey
  5. do you guys think one perscription 800mg ibuprophine is better than 4 200mg over the counter ibuprophin? :thumbup1:
  6. wow lots of different post op instructions on this one. How long would you say it is before your stomach is "completely healed" ? Just in case I want to go that route. I'll probably end up emailing my surgeon. I'll keep you guys updated on his response.
  7. Ahh thanks. My post op stuff says avoid NSAIDS, but I didn't know for how long. They are the one drug I can't live without (unless I absolutly have too)
  8. Okay I know I cant have NSAIDS but is this forever? My PCP didn't know the answer. I desperately need mega doses of ibuprophine once a month. My Dr gave me some tylenol with codine but I know thats not going to do the trick. Usually I take 6-8 advil every 6-8 hours for about 3 days. If I don't I am seriously incapacitated by cramps. Does anyone know if our stomachs are strong enough for NSAIDS ever again. If so I'm sure i could get a script for 800mg instead of doing the mega dose thing. Thanks Stacey
  9. You guys are going to do great. I'm 6 days out and have no regrets. It only gets easier from here. You all need to get some tickers so we can watch you loose!!!!!:thumbup1:
  10. I hope I'm that lucky 4 weeks out. I went for a hike today for the first time and it was hard to quench my thirst with little tiny sips. I love to quench that post exercise thirst.
  11. Hey.. good to see you posting heartonmysleeve. I know you had it kind of rough there at first. I've been thinking about you. Glad your doing better.
  12. Its gettin close kiddo. Youll be amazed at how easy it is once you get over the initial shock of surgery. Yea... clear liquids are water based. I ordered on the internet from BariWise. Its a catelouge for bariatric patients. I got a bunch of drink packets that are just like crystal lite only 15 grams of protien. My favorites are grapefruit and pinapple/orange. I fill up my water bottle with two packes and give it a splash of apple juice just so I get a few carbs and I'm loaded for the day. They also have powdered chicken Soup that has abt 15 grams and you can have that when your sick of sweert stuff. Another good online source is Bariatric Advantage. Hope that helps stacey I'll be glad when I can crunch something again.... but thats just for fun... I feel perfectly well nourished
  13. I know right... this would have been so much harder without this forum. Its like having a support group in your living room !!!! :001_smile:
  14. My doctor told me to start the day with something warm too. He said your sleeve will be much happier all day if it has something warm first.... something about the mucus lining. I am loving the warmth but havent ventured into cold yet.
  15. I did the same thing. I ate everything in sight until I was sick to death of food. I thought I would be so miserable without it, but I'm really fine (I'm still on liquids). I cant wait to have a little taste of something good again.... but the cool thing is I know I will. Hang in there and enjoy the ride. Stacey
  16. For me it is that warm cup of something in the morning. While on clears a bit of warm apple juice to start the day has done the trick. Atkins has a new eady to drink shake flavor called Mocha Latte. Its not a clear but when you go to full liquids a bit of that warmed up might hit the spot. I would be really scared of caffine at first though. I'm a real coffee hound but I'm afraid of the caffine just yet. take care stacey
  17. I don't just like food I use it to numb discomfort, or to heighten good moods. Today I very impulsively stopped and bought a small fry and a small milkshake and then like a giant sneak sat in the back of a parking lot and ate 4 fries and four bites of that shake. Wannalise. I know what your saying. Its not the fact that you ate it (our sleeves keep overeating from being a real problem) it WHY you ate. You were seeking the food numb. It really is a drug for us. I use food the same way, to numb, check out. I don't think its necessarily a bad thing to want to numb ourselves sometimes. Its probably human to need that release. Maybe we just need to find another way to get there like meditation, yoga, extreme sports. Guilt is the enemy. Phatcurves My 2 cents on the relationship thing. You'll make a move when its time. Listen to your gut and trust yourself. Take care Stacey

I think I'm gonna hold off on the coffee thing till I'm past the 21 day tardy leak point. I love it sooooooo much. I cant wait to be satisfied on a small soy latte and not order a vente only to have it last me 10 minutes.
  19. Ahh, sugar free Jello, thats a great idea. maybe i can put my unflavored
  20. Ahh, looked up the AB on line. I'll look a med supply store around here tomorrow. thanks stacey
  21. Whats an abdominal binder? Where do you get one? I was thinking about just wearing a tight undershirt to hold things still.

Good to know I'm headed for the chamomile. I'll take it easy on the latte... things are still a little tender. thanks stacey

Hi guys I'm 5 days post op and have this vauge memory of my doctor saying "no herb tea" Has anyone else heard this.... are there some kinds that are worse than others. Herb tea sounds so good right now  While I'm at it.... I was told no caffine. I go on full liquids tomorrow. I could have a decaf soy latte right? Thanks Stacey
