I spent my last week saying goodbye, or see ya later, to many of my favorite foods. I was so lucky not to have a pre-op diet.

Great that your birthday was recent - and before you surgery! Glad you splurged and enjoyed that steak! My husband bbq'd steak tonite and it is taking me forever to eat a couple of ounces.

My sister took me out for a fabulous seafood dinner two nights before my surgery - which was scheduled for my 49th bday!

There will be plenty of time to eat perfectly soon. Enjoy your last few days without sabotaging your surgery : )

I had fajitas and one too many margaritas the night before I started my preop diet. It was glorious.

Its so exciting to think of all the things that life can be. Outdoors.... camping.... hiking.... biking..... all the stuff I used to do.

We're gonna be fabulous!!!!

(congats on the "no preop diet" thing....mine sucked)

Jack - go ahead and enjoy yourself before your surgery. That is one of my main regrets that I didn't do that. I didn't have to do a pre-op diet since I had a lower BMI but for some reason I think I was just tired of eating. Now I wish I could go back about 6 weeks and have a feast!

Best of luck to you.

Frankie

I had some carbs which I normally do not have. Before officially starting my liquid diet I went out for a seafood dinner. Once I arrived in Mexico Dr. Aceves said to go wild and have a good last meal. I had tacos for lunch, club sandwich with fries for dinner and a piece of fruit for a snack. I portion controlled all of it. I wish I would've had a few more items but I was afraid that my liver would not shrink enough and there would be complications or that my blood sugar would spike suddenly from the higher carb foods.
