  1. Hey Tiff, Thanks for sharing the good and the bad. Yes.... it freaks me out a bit, but its certainly info we all need.
  2. Hey Driver, Glad to see your post... maybe that means your doing better. I would really like to be able to offer whatever support I can and I'm sure there are lost of members who would as well. Maybe you could start a new thread. I would jump on. Take care and I hope your feeling better Stacey
  3. There was no way I could have choked down a shake in those first days. I ordered a bunch of fruit drinks online from "bariwise". They are just like crystal lite only 12-15 grams of protein. It will get easier!!
  4. I don't know but I sure hope not. I'm subscribing to this thread so I can get others take on this.
  5. I'm still on liquids but I had a huge sweet tooth pre op. Now I find myself craving protien. I can't wait until I can have a scrambled egg with a little cheese or some soft pork or fish. I think our tasts do change. I loved granola and yougart but I don't think it would do it for me now. Maybe try something more salty and meaty?
  6. I am 44 and the only regret I have is that I didn't do this earlier. I wasted so much time sitting in corners being the fat girl. I feel like my life is just starting when it should have started years ago. The only thing I think about is that if I had gotten the surgery younger I might not have changed my lifestyle.. I was not very mature at your age (it sounds like your a little more grown up than I was) and I was still looking for a quick fix. I would have depended on the sleeve to do all the work and not adopted healthy habits.
  7. Coach... You will be so surprised how easy it is to get by on very little calories post op. Pre Op you might as well have shot me in the face as tell me I had to be on liquids for several weeks. But its really not that bad. You'll do fine. Stacey
  8. Sometimes it seems just impossible that I could be thin. Its hard to believe that this time next year I will be sliping into a size 8. I have believed this so many other times... so many diets and miracle cures... its hard to really believe its true. I kep looking for the evidence to support my theory that there is no hope for me. WOW... what a defeatist attitude. It'll happen this time!!!!
  9. Hey Goodlife, good to see your post. You guys are ROCK STARS....
  10. Hey BJean. Its day 2 and you feel like $@#!. I promise.... by day 3 you will be 10 times better and it goes up from there. Hang in there. Stacey
  11. The 1st couple of days are a bit rough... its smooth sailing from there. Congrats !!!!
  12. Okay... I'll settle down. I love this forum, I would be so freaked out right now if I couldn't bounce this stuff off someone. BTW.... I went to lunch with friends today and had some blond ale smoked gouda soup. It went down like a dream and I felt so normal. Its weird how those huge portions arnt even appealing any more.
  13. 4 months out!!!! Yikes. I really want to have an "end point" where I don't have to stress about it anymore. I'm a little neurotic about this right now.
  14. Every day is exponentially easier than the last. Its rough at first, but you'll be fine :thumbup1:
  15. Are leaks actually caused by overeating or are they just something that happens???
  16. Its hard to figure out when i'm full. I know my stomach is tight.... but its always tight. Its so easy to over do it. I know there is a danger point around 21 days out. I guess thats when the stitches or glue disolve. If I make it to 30 days I'm callin it good!!!!!
  17. Your new life starts now!!!! Sleep well and walk a lot
  18. Yea... I wonder that too. What if I eat myself to death, (I'm not kidding I really think this stuff too)
  19. I have struggled with constipation my whole life. I started on Greek Yougart today so I'm hoping something gives soon. I was hoping to take the natural route but things are getting pretty uncomfortable. My roommate is pregnant and constipated. She came home from work today and told me about the TWO gigantic poops she had today. I really wanted to be her. Of course I've been living on straight protien and taking my calcium supplemets. I don't want to skip the calcium though.... its so important. I guess pooping is too.
  20. My suspicion is that its in the "I don't know so better safe than sorry" category.
  21. I'm trying not to. I know in my head that I have to have lost weight. I havent eaten in 7 days!!! My stomach feels bloated and my bowels havent moved since surgery (sorry TMI) so I'm sure thats it. Its just we all have such irrational thinking when it comes to this stuff. Thanks for the encouragement
  22. i am one week post op and have lost .4 lbs. I'm trying not to get discouraged but I could have done that and still kept my stomach. Stacey
  23. OMG Tiff Check out your ticker!!!!! :lol0:
  24. When you guys present your surgeons with tiffs post let us know what they say. Mine is in Mexico so its too hard to present the info at this point Thanks Stacey
  25. does it have the same impact on stomach linining. Intuitively I would think the 800 mg would be better but I don't know. BTW... my doc said they should be avoided if possible...particularly long term use. Hows that for nailing it down for us? :lol0:
