What a great night! I went to see Rockapella, and they were totally awesome! I'm real big into concerts and musicals and artsy stuff. I took my friend that I had mentioned. She at least thought enough of me to give me some of her home made bread. That was sweet. :hungry: She knows how much I love bread. Yeah, I know, that will have to stop. No problem. I'm easing down on the bread thing. Well, the conversation never got to how I was doing with all this. We had a 2 1/2 hour drive to the concert, so we had plenty of time to talk. After an hour and a half, I finally mentioned something about my doctor appointment, yeah, I know I let it slip. It was only then that she asked how things were going 'with that.' That's why I hate having close friends, do they really care? Do they even have a freakin' clue??? Somebody please tell me!!!! Anyway, the concert was great. If you don't remember them, they did the Carmen Sandiego show. Remember that? Well, afterwards, I got to talk to them, and I loved every minute of it. As a musician myself, I can truly appreciate every little thing that goes into a concert and music like this. They are amazing. I hate getting those terrible looks like, 'Oh God, it's a fat guy, he better not touch me!' Get over it you skinny little piece of...... Well, you get the picture. So I was happy about that. Well, I'm off to bed now, I have a funeral to play for in the morning, oh don't apologize, it's my job, I didn't know them. Good night all!!!!!

Well, it's a good day. I had my first couple of tests today, quite painless. Which is what I like. I say, 'No pain? Hey, no pain!!!! *smile*' Okay, I know it's stupid, but I like stupid humor. Anyway, just to let you all know, I'm keeping this a pretty big secret. Even when I get the surgery done, I'm not telling hardly anyone. I have a very few friends who I have told, but not many. So count yourselves lucky! Every time they know I'm on a diet, they start telling me how good I look cuz of the weight I've lost. most of the time, I have gained weight, or stayed the same. It just shows that they really don't know, or care enough to know. Okay, I have to get this off my chest. I have this really close friend, adn we do lots and lots of things together. She is probably my closest friend right now. Yes, just friend, I know what you were thinking. Well anyway, I told her about me doing this surgery thing, and she supports me totally. However, after I originally told her, I haven't brought it up again, except to say that I was going to my first dr's appointment. Well, I'm still waiting on her to ask how that went. It's like she just doesn't care about what's going on inside of me. Just another one of my 'friends' who could care less if I'm okay, or not. Well, I'm tired of chasing after my friends, and continually trying to bring them into my life. If they want to know anything, they need to go out of their way and ask me! At least a simple, "How are you doing?" or "Are you okay?" or how about, "How did your dr's appointment go? Oh, and I haven't even mentioned all those people at church who just love to talk about me, and put me down in anything I do in my personal life. And some of them are supposedly my good friends. One of them asked me to go out to eat with them the other night. What a hypocrit!!!!! Okay, enough complaining, I'm actually in a good mood. I just love complaining. Keep reading, and I'm sure you will hear lots, probably even things you don't want to know! Cheers!!!

Hello! It's nice to hear someone else is thinking about six flags. I always take a bunch of kids from my church, and I have never been able to ride rides because of my weight. It will be nice to do that with them. Good luck to you, and welcome to LBT!

Well, I had my 1st appointment for tests today, just had a couple, but it went well. I have scheduled my appointment with the nutritionist and the psych test. I also have about 8 or so other tests scheduled already for the next couple of weeks. I can't believe it's going so fast. I'm pretty excited today about it. Welcome Sarah! I just had my initial appointment 2 days ago, so I'm just getting things rolling too. I heard today that my surgery would probably be about an hour long. I hate staying in hospitals too. When I had my sleep study, I couldn't sleep that well at all. So tell us a little about yourself Sarah. Where are you from? Keep in touch, and good luck with your venture.

Ok, yesterday I found out that my insurance is not going to cover the surgery. It's because my company has excluded it. I have spoken with both the insurance and the company I work for. I dont' believe I will have much luck with it. This really discouraged me. However, today, I went for my initial appointment with Dr. Argotte, who will do the surgery. It went very well. I have the first 10 tests scheduled that are needed. It seems like things are moving right along. So today, I am very excited, and things look much better today. I can't believe that this is moving along as quickly as it is. I am about to enter a new phase of my life, and I thought I wouldn't be entering a new phase for a long time. So tomorrow, I go for my first couple tests. I shall let you know how things go. Thanx for reading!!!

Hey everyone. I had my initial meeting with the Dr. today. So far it went great! I can't believe it. I have 10 of the tests scheduled for the next few weeks, starting tomorrow morning. Even though the insurance won't cover it, I'm excited. By the way, mysherrijo, please tell me what you think. Is he going too fast? Should I be concerned. Please know that I value your opinion, but I will still go with my heart, so please be open and honest with me. *smile*

My initial appointment with the doctor is today at noon, so I'm hoping things will go well. I'm a little nervous, but that's just cuz I dont' know what is gonna happen. I have always done my best to avoid the subject of my weight, now it is the main point of conversation.

Would you mind me asking about how you paid for it without insurance? Did you get financing? What kind of loan was it? How much are the payments? I'm just trying to be prepared for everything. I am hoping to have the surgery done pretty soon, but I dont' want to go very far to get it done. That is kewl that your dad played with them. My whole family is about music as well. Piano is my main instrument, and I also sing, or at least try to sing. Well, today in about 3 hours I am having my initial appointment with Dr. Argotte. I hope all goes well. I'm a little nervous but not too bad. Thanx again for all of your support.

Josette, you are an amazing person with a wonderful spirit. It sounds like we have the same mom. Mine is still here, but it breaks my heart to know that someday she will be gone. You are in my thoughts and prayers. *hug*

Okay, this is only my second day, but I'm loving this. *smile* Anyway, I'm the full time music director for my church. Roman Catholic all the way dude!!! I also teach private music lessons for piano, voice, guitar, and many many more things. I also play professionally for weddings and parties, and compose and arrange music. If there is someone out there with any similarities, I would love to hear from you.

I do appreciate the info mysherrijo. You have given me lots to think about. I am still looking forward to it, I just know what to ask, and what to look for. I have heard about 2 deaths. I have a couple friends who are nurses at Lourdes, and I have heard through them. The one girl had a clot go to her heart. But thanx alot, and I hope to talk with you more through this whole thing.

I have been told that the surgery is about 30 minutes, I think, and the place I would get mine done, you stay overnight. I hope things work out for you. I know things can be stressful. I can't wait to hear how things go with you.

Allexandra, thank you for your help. I have insurance through a company, actually it is through my church, and diocese. It would be a large group plan. I called the office to discuss this, and they will find out if they can change the coverage. When I spoke to my insurance company today, they told me that the exclusion is for any weight loss surgery or programs. If my doctors' give them evidence to show that this is for my health and not just to lose weight, do you think that would work? Thanx again for what you do.

Anyway, I've not had my surgery yet, I just got turned down the 1st time from the insurance, so time to appeal. Just another rock in my path.

Tiffany, I'm right there with you. My insurance has denied me, now I have to appeal. It is very discouraging. If feels like everyone is against you, and you have no where to go. I feel your pain. *hug*

Okay, I have Anthem BC/BS, and they told me that my policy does not cover any weight loss surgeries. However, they said that I can appeal it. Has anyone here appealed the no coverage thing and won??? Please let me know.

Thank you JDru! I am hoping that things will go smoothly. After a few phone calls, I just found out that my insurance doesn't cover weight loss surgeries. Now I have to try to appeal that, and see what happens. That's the first sumbling block for me.
