  1. It's really important to remember that your body is healing. The next few weeks your weight will go up and down, but it should not be your main focus. Eat the right amount of food you're supposed to and in time the scale will move. You need to ensure that you're getting in the right nutrition to help your body heal properly. Honestly, you shouldn't be worried about your weight now. You're not gonna lose at the same pace you did on your pre-op diet, think about it. Trust me, you aren't gaining. You may be holding onto Water. There's so many things that can cause the scale to say things you don't want a few weeks after surgery. Remember your body just underwent something very serious, so it will need time. I'm getting close to a month post-op and the scale still goes up and down on me. Give your body a chance to fully heal, and don't depend on the scale. You will see it move down in time.
  2. Congrats! Have fun on the beach :cursing:
  3. Thank you!!! I can't believe it's coming off so easily. Hopefully it continues. Good luck on your journey :) If you need anything feel free to message me!

  4. Congrats!! Hopefully the scale keeps on moving down!

    4th of July Challenge!

I forgot to say I'm joining in! So, hello everyone and good luck  No fills for me yet, only 2 1/2 weeks out from surgery and my hunger pains are back with a vengeance, but the weight is coming off still. Hoping to lose 15lbs.
  6. My doctor said 6-weeks. However he also said if I continue to lose at the rate I am (about 3lbs a week) I won't need one.
  7. Good luck! As the others said, walk walk walk and sip sip sip your water. Having Gas-X near by never hurts either! Congrats on your surgery.
  8. I think 6 weeks post-op you will be fine. I am only 2 weeks and a few days post-op and I feel great. Yes certain things do still hurt a little, but definitely not as bad as it did. Bending over and moving the wrong way are my main issues. I'd be careful with the hiking. Don't overdo yourself. But, it's definitely best to ask your surgeon, though I think you'll be fine. Good luck and have fun on your trip!!
  9. I was told to try to eat 1/4 of a cup of food and if I was still hungry to eat more. I started with 1 cup of food per meal, no snacks, but I've moved myself down to 3/4 cup, no snacks. Maybe you should call your dietician and ask just to be sure.

    have to see Mental Heath

The questions vary I'm sure but many times it's pretty simple things: How long have you been overweight? Do you know why? Have you ever had an eating disorder? Any mental disorders? Does your family and close friends support your decision? Why do you want Lapband? Are you willing to accept the changes and adhere to the Lapband rules? Etc, etc. They just want to be sure you are mentally and emotionally ready for a big change in your lifestyle and that you have a support system helping you along the way. I was worried about mine but it turned out to be a breeze. Just be honest and you'll be fine.

    stomach flu!

Hope you start to feel better! My dr. said to use those anti-nausea pills if I ever get sick like that.

    Amusement Park

I'd call your dr's office just to be sure. I was told to wait. If I can't exercise normally for 6 weeks, then I'm sure as heck not gonna go on a rollercoaster :smile2: I can't wait until I can again though

    trouble with rich food?

My nutritionist said that rich foods as well as spicy foods are a problem for some people after surgery. Maybe your stomach just can't tolerate those types of foods anymore.
  15. It's your port. You won't ever be able to feel your band.

    Please help scared!!!

Having Lapband doesn't mean that you'll be throwing up each day. This really only happens when you eat or drink too much or too quickly. Follow your nutritionists advice. Have small meals cut into small pieces, and chew chew chew. Sip your water or whatever you're drinking, don't gulp it, and you'll be fine. Listen to your body and follow the rules and it's rare that you'll find yourself throwing up each day.
  17. I'm 5'3 shooting for 125, maybe 120. Only time will tell :tongue2:
  18. Very normal. What Manda said is spot on. I usually go up 2lbs, but sometimes not.
  19. It IS a struggle but it will get better. Hang in there
  20. It does get better! Usually around day 3-4 it really gets easier. Keep on going, you can do it

    Swimming

My doctor said 6 weeks, but obviously the answer differs so just ask. I'd at least want to wait until my incisions were closed.
  22. So I'm 5 days post-op, and I realized I have not been eating a lot of food, at all. I do get my 3 meals a day in, but many times I'm forcing myself to eat them and most times I don't want them. Should I be worried or is this normal? I know for a fact I'm not getting my protein amounts in because I can't drink 2 protein shakes a day. I'm literally just full. Any ideas of what I should do or is this plenty normal? Thanks!
  23. reverie

    Struggling.

I think I may try protein shots. I tried to make a Protein shake with 2 scoops of protein. Oh man. I took 2 sips and I want to throw up  I've seen people mix the protein shooters with Crystal Light, so maybe that will work.
  24. reverie

    Struggling.

I'm on full liquids for 2 weeks, then mushies for 2 weeks, then normal food again. I'm just worried about protein levels..and my hair falling out LOL. My NUT really stressed protein so I'm freaking out about not getting it.
  25. reverie

    Struggling.

No! I'm loving not being hungry, but I'm just worried about my protein amounts. I know protein is vital but it's just very very hard to get it all on while on liquids only. I bought some unflavored Protein powder and the smell makes me want to puke.
