Exercise Challenge! Go for the Gold!
reporting in my walk (shhhh, i even ran a tad) for the day. i went 5.96 miles.. had DH drop me off at the gym while he had a training session and i walked home. it's so different going on pavement vs. a dreadmill... loved it!! i felt fabulous. of course now my feet/toes are in some pretty major pain (didnt help to have DD stomp on them twice today ) how is everyone else doing? susan, great job going to the gym... it is a lot more fun when you do it as a family! dawn - let us know how the TT appt goes ... it really has changed my outlook (ok, yes, i look at other imperfections, but such is life...)

losing jusme's quest to the Minnie marathon
just under 6 miles (5.96 - i had to calibrate my Nike+ for .25 miles) loved it! i had DH drop me off at the gym and while he worked out, i walked home. below is my print out from Nike+. its actually accurate...

NSV - i got in my DH's shorts ... ;)
my DH, bless him, is 6'3", 155-160, runners build (with a little bit of a belly)... i am out of clean shorts so just for grins, i put a pair of his on (men's Large)... here they are! not huge, but they fit... wonder if he'll even notice they are his?

StephC's PS journey/I got approved!!
Steph, did your doc talk to you about vitamin/supplements yet? i started Vit C 2 1/2 weeks before and continued after and i think that helped quite a bit. you may want to ask them.

Help! Surgery in 3 days..I have a cold!!
try to call your surgeon and see what they suggest. zicam, Vitamin c, anything you can take would be great.. the surgery may need to be postponed, but you'd rather be healthy than sick (coughing/sneezing is not fun newly banded). good luck

29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day
ugh... horrible picture ... but i'll post anyway ... my 'trunk' is really swollen today and my garment is an old one .. excuses excuses... im still very hesitant not going to the + section, or even Avenue / Lane Bryant for that matter. their smaller sizes still fit me (and i love the casique (sp?) bras with a little padding in them)...

Unfill for PS - how to avoid gaining weight?
i probably gained about 5-6 pounds during my unfill. but i was truly eating garbage for a little and i couldnt exercise. now back on track, i've lost those 5-6 plus quite a few more.

Discouraged....
i completely disagree with the fact that you WILL only lose 30-50% of your excess weight. there are MANY MANY on here that have lost 100% or more of their excess weight. bypass might be quicker than lapband (not all cases though), but in the long run - i think 2 years - its about even. the band is a tool to help you lose the weight. exercising and eating right will help you achieve your goals. good luck.

Proactive vs paranoid?
i'd say if you dont hear from her by Friday early afternoon, give her a call... i dont think it sounds desperate, just very interested in getting more healthy. good luck.

Could it be?
i hope so too ... restriction is a wonderful thing!

Banded April 1st, no fooling!
hi Carla, welcome to LBT. walking is a great form of exercise and a wonderful diversion! congrats on being banded.
-
Should I be a candidate?
i agree with Susan, the band is a phenominal tool that will help you lose the weight (it will not do all the work for you).. complications can include, band slipping, reflux, etc (more info can be found in the complications section) but most can be avoided. best of luck to you and welcome to LBT!
