  2. or that the cherub was too thin ...
  3. first outdoor run was a bust ... a combination of too many new things.. new shoes (tied too tight I think), new trail, trail with slight inclines, DH and DD were with me, too much of a distraction I think, I didnt properly stretch.. too many excuses. next time I need to just suck it up and run. I feel like crap that I couldn't do it. I did get a nice mile walk in, but that's not any consolation..
  4. wasa, when you took yours out, i briefly had one up... it was huge and red .... but i chickened out ...

  8. laurend, im not a mod (nor do i play one on tv), but you can find who the mods are for a particular section (Lounge, Exercise, etc) by scrolling to the bottom of the post listings. it's on the right. see pic
  9. mcgreen - welcome! sweethot - no issues with shin splints with me. my suggestion is slow it down a bit maybe. are you running at an incline? if so, level it out for a few weeks. shin splints are what stopped me on the treadmill in February ... not a fun thing!
  10. awww, Tish, dont be such a looser...
  11. I THINK ID RATHER READ ALL CAPS Than Typing Like This. It Simply Drives Me F'Ing Bonkers.
  12. julie, so glad you are home and ok. wow - no sitting for 2 weeks!?! sounds like liquids and mushies is a good idea for now. please take care of yourself and post on your progress when you can. C
  13. wooo hoo metal. I forgot about this thread, thanks for bringing it back. I am staying on plan today cause I have less than 6 months til my Minnie marathon.
  14. cindi - sorry to hear about your d fil. good luck with the podcast. I like them a lot - helps me stay on track. happy belated b-day
  15. metal - YES!! that would be so cool! and juli - i am FAR from amazing... very far
  16. i agree with living - you need to 'shock the body' ... cross train. one day do the elliptical if you buy one, the other go for a fast paced walk, the other take a few minutes every few hours and go up a few flights of stairs at the office. my advice on the elliptical - try several out before you buy. any good store will let you hop on for a few minutes. however, if you are new to 'the beast', you may only be able to go a few minutes. the first time i was on one, i lasted under 2 minutes. best of luck to you... keep active, it works!
  17. Liny, looks like you are right on track with 2 pounds a week, which is awesome! have you been really logging your food? are you eating enough? good luck!
  18. JM - did you throw it in the freezer for 20-30 mins? i dont like them cold, i like them COLD. they taste kinda bland straight from the fridge. i dont like them over ice either. ???? i did not run today. i just ran out of time. i did, however, walk a ton today. i explored 2 different trails to run outside and walked w/ Ddog and DD. almost 12000 steps today!! i was so proud of my DD (4 next month) she did so well on that trail. it was just under a mile and she walked/ran it with me. i did break into a run a few times, but i was in sandals so didnt want to mess up my feet (too late ) i am noticing quite a few changes in my body. my DT(rainer) took measurements for last month and i lost 1 inch in my waist, 2 inches in my hips and a tad in my legs. im surprised my legs didnt lose more, but my muscles have become more pronounced. gotta love major leg muscles. i signed up for our turkey trot in Dallas for Thanksgiving morning. i wanted to do the 15K, but know there is no way i could do it.... so DD, DH and I are doing the 5K. wooo hoooo... i need a foot rub.... stupid sandals ...
  19. i did not run today. i did scope out paths to go run tomorrow though. i found a nice one that i will be visiting tomorrow ... wooo hooo! Ddog and i just walked around and enjoyed the morning. will post about my run tomorrow.
  20. i dont use BB's nutritional info .. i use My Food Diary :: Online Calorie Counter w/ Diet Journal & Exercise Log MUCH more user friendly - but there is a fee for it.
  21. i have an ipod video (aka Classic), shuffle and the iPhone. DH just said i could get a nano to complete my collection DH is an Apple geek (self-proclaimed) and said he hasnt heard anything bad about the new Nano. when they first came out the click wheel might have been a tad slow, but he said it has improved. i want one, i really do. but really dont see a need for one. other than completing my collection... get one, you'll love it i'm sure. ORRRRR ... get a shuffle. i LOVE my shuffle. it just clips onto my shirt and i can RUN! woooo hoooo... please come to Florida with me ...
  22. my family has never wanted anything. i would want something as a young child / teen, it would 'magically' appear. 99% of the time i would not have to mention it twice, never did i have to cry/pout to get it. since i've had siblings, for Christmas (and other holidays, too but Xmas is the biggie) we've had what my Dad calls "Pick A Pocket". He would have cash stuffed in shirt / pants pockets and we would pick which pocket "our" cash would be in. there was always 1 pocket that had a bit more in it. for Christmas last year, instead of cash, there were checks - 5 figures... jaw dropping ... each kid (and spouses) got one. in addition to the regular gift certificates under the tree. which now that there are grandkids, the gifts are more for them (as they should be), but its just insane! my dad loves giving cash - completely impersonal ... sometimes i think i'd rather have a well thought out gift than a check. happy belated anniversary!
