  1. i have a trainer i spend time working out daily (even if it is a walk in the park) pedi every 6 weeks or so (they are the salon pedi's so they last that long) reading i need to hire a house cleaning service ... i just need to convince DH.
  2. Rain, get as much use as you can out of them now, cause i dont think they will fit for long. congrats!!!!!
  3. same answer as Mbella. it was never bad, per se. but now ... ummm ... WOW. i think it's a confidence factor. and smaller for more positions.
  4. you have questions, we have answers ... There is a thread for Lap-Band Surgery FAQs and References located HERE. TONS of great info. There are lots of questions/answers here too... topics covered: what is a PB? what does DH mean? what do you suggest I buy before surgery? I have a consult tomorrow, what do I need to ask the doctor? how do I get a ticker? what is a fill? I had surgery 3 days ago and am very hungry, can I eat _____ (anything other than liquids)? (short answer - not unless your doctor said you could - more than likely not) welcome to LBT!
  5. ROTF... faith, you are too much! for TICKER info go here: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ sorry - wrong link initially
  6. hmmm .. i was just looking into jumping. the only thing im concerned with are my knees ... i think i'll give it a try though.
  7. i never let myself get THAT hungry. if you have to snack on a few nuts or something, try that. good luck!
  8. whos - you are SUCH a geek (i do the same thing w/ my iPhone) kay - they are new balance, not sure of the number but they were just awful!! i'll see if i can find them online and show you how bad they were!!
  9. JM - i love atkins type ... i dont do full blown atkins, i dont count "net" carbs - i do total carbs. glad i'll have a buddy for W2 again... Whos - huh? next week off? who says!!??!
  10. well, i had a trainer appt this morning at 5, but i wanted to get to the gym earlier to try out the new shoes on the treadmill. they are better ... not as good as my 'normo' shoes (non-herman munster-esque) but i was able to run. i did 2 sets of 90 seconds each. tomorrow will be my week 2 day and we'll see how i handle the whole set. JM - are we on for week 2 again next week. i do not want to overdo it. i have to keep reminding myself that it's not a race, its about conditioning my body. my Minnie marathon is only 9 miles, so it is definitely do-able to train for it in the next 25 weeks. i still have more than a year til my first "real" marathon.. slow and steady builds up to quick and steady, right ??
  11. you look fantastic, Julie. i am so proud of you!
  12. only your knees? i was thinking my shins ... tube socks with tennis balls thanks to my surgery ... but you know, its OK ...
  13. JM - i'll go back to week 2 with you... i didnt run today. woke up too late and had an appt after work. i am now exhausted. bed in a few minutes (i wish)!!
  14. Faith, I cant imagine why you want your band out. All you have to do is eat 1/8th cup of food a meal, like I do (perfectly i might add), and all will be well
  15. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f73/abbreviations-what-they-mean-7959/
  16. i get my energy from that nasty F word (fat ). on days i run, i eat more carbs per day, but still try to limit carbs to 10% of my cals for the day. the fat & Protein keeps me fuller longer
  17. that's exactly how i am ... carbs are evil for me. i try to do low carb (under 20 gms or 10% of my total cals depending on my activity level) ... when i do it, it WORKS!! but sticking to it .. that's another story. you'd think dropping the weight would MAKE me stick with it??? wish it was that easy.
  18. why booo?? you are doing a great job!!
  19. hi kmac, about 4-5 months after banding i ran into a counter corner ... hit my port spot on... the pain was almost unbearable for about 2-3 minutes. i developed a nasty bruise, but other than that, i was fine. it's pretty durable.
  20. i couldnt agree more. there are MANY patient coordinators on here that like to interrupt conversations and totally diss one of their competitors.
  21. JM - me too!! of course i couldnt sleep last night - finally to bed at 1am... could not get out of bed this morning. guess it will be an afternoon run! yay.
  22. WOOOO HOOOO!!! congrats to both of you on your NSVs!!
  23. i think the problem is that people dont WANT to do the research and they dont want to read "long" threads for the answers. they would rather just post a question and have people reply directly to them. ie - there is a fairly long body bugg thread going on in the exercise forum. it answers probably 95% of questions. someone started a new thread because they didnt want to read through the entire long thread ... ?????!!!! i agree completely. there are weeks i dont even go to the intro section and sometimes even the support thread for a few days. i just cant handle the "i just got banned (sic) and ate prime rib for dinner and i keep throwing up, but that's ok cause i forced it down" type threads...
