  1. well, i am anxiously waiting for the peanut butter/chocolate flavor, it was recommended by laurend. i emailed amazon to see if i can send them back. all else fails, i will put some of the da vinci syrups in there and see if that makes things better. i literally almost gagged at the chocolate mousse... not a good thing at work (or anywhere actually). i am hoping if i can drop these 20 (or more) pounds, and they remove 20-25lbs, i will be about 30ish pounds from my first goal and see what happens. ideally, later, i would like a brachioplasty (arms), and my shark bite thighs taken care of as well. i may have a lift or something done to the girls, but not sure... they sure have deflated quite a bit poor DH! you know, even after the TT, i just cannot picture a flat tummy. i really cant. i've had a massive stomach since i can remember.
  2. ok, so this sucks so much. tried the Creamy Caramel New whey - tasted like cardboard tried the Double chocolate Mousse - tasted like chocolate cardboard. wtf am i going to do now? hopefully the chocolate Peanut Butter will be in soon, maybe tomorrow ??? great way to lose the weight ... gag down 1/2 a shake 4 times a day and yes, i honestly thought the Chocolate Mousse was going to make a return visit. guess im not hungry after all.. :think
  3. Julie, i am so sorry you are having a rough time. any way you can take some more time off work and get your dad's help?
  4. to be honest, i didnt think i was ready for a LBL. when i first started plastics, i was thinking about my arms and maybe a tuck but just to see where i needed to be weight wise, it was suggested i get a panniculectomy... i went to a 2nd consult for a panni, and that doctor said he could do an extended tuck with lipo, explained how his procedure was different, showed me impressive pics and i was sold. also a good thing - GayleTX went to him as well and really liked him, so there you go. i will eventually need my thighs done, it looks like i had a 'shark bite' out of my inner thighs, but they are shaping up really well due to my running and leg workouts ... who knows
  5. FMLA for self in our company is paid via sick time (just doesnt count as an occurrence), when sick is out, you can use vacation then borrow vacation from next year. it has been an act since i've been working, so not sure how it was before.. i just hope they approve it.
  6. karey, love that mantra... it will be alright ... it will be alright ... it will be alright ... nina, eat some sauce ... you'll enjoy life SO much more, really.
  7. hi Mandi, i normally eat a bigger afternoon snack (iSS Oh Yeah bar as opposed to nuts) if i will do some serious cardio (more than 30ish mins of running/walking) or major strength training. i usually eat a bit more at dinner if i'm not too restricted as well. maybe an additional 200-300 cals depending on what i do at the gym.
  8. oh i would have seriously had issues with the L/D nurse. total violation of HIPPA!
  9. hi wombat its not time, it's distance ... so get that endurance up then start going for speed ... 10% a week. not sure about squats, i dont think it would be a big deal...
  10. Yay Mindy!! what kind are they? at least with new shoes you'll be able to run away from DH!! :heh:
  11. julie, just read about the seromas ... youch!! i cant even imagine taking care of them on your own! hope things clear up soon, C
  12. i've been having major balance issues ever since i hit about 100 pounds gone. when i am not running, i do hold on with 1 hand just to balance myself. i switch hands every .25 miles. right now im too unstable (i've been known lately to just get up from sitting and lose my balance ) to not hold on.
  13. i started at 402.5 and so far have lost about 135 pounds. i still have about 70ish to go. the first several were not too difficult, the band and liquid diet took care of it. after i hit about 75 though, S L O W ... you can do it though.
  14. i agree with babygrl, its tough to get started but once you do it and see the results, it gets easier. if you are too far from a gym or not convenient, what about some exercise videos? Biggest Loser has a few out, Walk Away The Pounds, the Dummies series is pretty good as well. moving helps a lot.
  15. wombat, it was suggested to me to just keep running. if you like running the long distances, do that and just gradually add distance (no more than 10% a week is a good guideline)
  16. nina, AND im actually scheduled for a fill Monday. way way too hungry lately. plus i'll need the extra boost when i go mainly shakes for a few weeks.
  17. before banding not only no but HELL NO.... in fact while they were getting me ready for the surgery, i had him leave when i even thought they'd bring up my weight (they never did)... i missed having him there cause i was so paranoid. now, yup, he knows.. **shrug** he knows about what i am now and he knows how much i've lost so he knows i started in the 400 range :think that i dont like, but im never getting up there again, sooooo...
  18. i didnt ask either, the information was given unsolicited .... not sure if i heard correctly though, i think she said i need to keep my restriction :heh:
  19. FMLA is a federal act Family Medical Leave Act put in place by President Clinton. basically it gives you 12 weeks a year if you medically need it (or i took it for my adoption as well) without retribution from the company. not sure how many holidays we get, maybe 10-12ish. i get 3 weeks of vacation a year (and i may also purchase one as well) and 40 hours of sick a year. i do have a desk job, i am in a management position at a mAAjor international airline. i dunno what my driving restrictions are going to be. i just spoke with my coordinator today about more lipo on my back and reconfirmed a week off would be plenty. she assured me a lot of their patients do only take a week off. it is mostly attitude - i have a good attitude about returning in a week, i should be fine. definitely not 100%, but fine. looks like i may be getting lipo on my back as well. i initially thought the bottom part of my back would be covered, not completely, so im just going to ask about back lipo at my pre-op. might be another 1500, but worth it... attached is an unfortunate picture of my backside ... ick
  20. nina, LOOOOOOONG time - July or Septemberish i think ... if FMLA is approved, i'll go FMLA for 1 week for hernia and then vacation for following week.
  21. heh... not so much... i work for a mAAjor (ahem) corporation and im filing FMLA paperwork for the hernia, but our FMLA system is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO strict. i've already been out 2 times in a rolling year, 3rd time is not looked upon kindly at all - as in if there are layoffs you'll more than likely be the first to go... we'll see though...
  22. here here, TG!!!
  23. nina, great idea ... i will ASSume everyone is having a TT for now, if im wrong, please correct me ... (yup, im a lazy bleep and am not going to check individ threads.)
  24. mmmm... yummie Protein shakes ... caramel latte shake ... yummmmmmm i would not be able to handle any sort of dry meat, bring on the sauce. i figure i eat so little now anyway a tablespoon (not serving spoon) of sauce is not going to kill me...
