  1. hi MM, well, i've flown 4 times without it. i kind of feel like it is part of my big girl clothes.... i got rid of those as well. no use hanging onto them cause im not going to get to that size again, its almost an incentive NOT to gain weight, ya know? if i gain weight, i'll have to buy an entire wardrobe - again. and i dont want to do that. i only kept a few clothes that i slip into when im feeling like crap. they let me see how far i've come. congrats on 100 lbs!
  2. i agree ... no way! i dunno how much you weigh, but i started with my trainer when i was about 380. she told me to sit on the ball and i laughed at her. i did and surprise, surprise, it didnt pop!
  3. Neal, would you like me to put mons lift in your profile on the first post  i think im gunna have to suck it up and get a toilet seat lift ... geesh, this surgery is costing me a fortune and a half!! nooooooooo... *looking around* not me ... i cant imagine anyone ... *looking over shoulder* doing that ...
  4. Hi Tami, i am still getting in tons of Protein. i've decided to do 1 day shakes (when i find one i that doesnt make me gag), 1 day food, etc... shakes only was making just that ... shakey ... and i literally could not move last night i was so tired... we have a recliner that is a PITA to get out of, i think what i'll do is just put an ottoman (sp?) so my legs are propped up and i may even put a wedge pillow for my knees too... who knows? i was fine with sleeping in bed after LB. i even started sleeping on my tummy (port side) the 2nd or 3rd day. i am definitely a tummy sleeper, not sure how im going to sleep after TT!! thanks for the comprehensive list. all i have right now is a big long list of URLs... thanks!!! C
  5. walking? i was told to walk as much as possible after surgery. the 4th or so day i was outside going to the mailbox and back ... neighbors must have loved the show.... 'serious' treadmill walking? after my post op appt. my doctor basically said, try it, if it hurts, stop. but no ab exercises for 4-6 weeks.
  6. first person to send me a PM will be sent my old one. will ship to the US only please. the only thing i ask is that when you no longer need it, you pass it on... ****its taken now******
  7. yup, im a plug wearer, i was actually too big for pads for so long, i just stopped wearing them and never went back. yeah, w/ TT & mons lift, i was basically told to check my dignity at the hospital entrance i've already prepared DH that he may have to do everything for me and i told him that may involve taking care of when i ummm, yaknow, and during TOM. he said he's OK with that, im not going to ask again cause that question was difficult enough the first time... i've read that swelling can continue up to 6-8 months after surgery, i wear a 'sucker-inner' now anyway and to be honest, i think i'd feel lost without one... even if it's not a medical compression garment, i think i'll be wearing one for quite awhile. plus the one that i wear now helps with hips and thighs too! LOVE the Avenue shapewear. i am just starting to fit into the 14/16 shapewear though and that's as low as they go... not sure what i'm gunna do after that....
  8. yes... YES ... YES!! i started out very slow (about 7-8 mins on the treadmill at 2MPH), every day i went to the gym, i increased it by 2 or more minutes. i can now run/walk/run combo for 30+ minutes. i honestly think it helped 100fold with the weight loss. for example - when first banded i was working out 6-10 times a week and weight was flying off of me (about 65 pounds in 2 months). now, im not working out nearly as much as i should and ... well, the weight isnt coming off either. get out there, start slow, take it easy and dont hurt yourself... but PUSH yourself as far as you can ... it's great to sweat!
  9. my resting HR has dropped significantly as well. pre-op i was about 90-92 bpm, now it's norm is about 55ish, but it has dropped lower than that when i am literally doing nothing but sitting on the couch not moving.
  10. well, i guess i could explain that my DH is Chinese... and she is a very thin Chinese woman .. but it's mostly DH's father. he is very critical. our first meeting, he asked me how much i weighed  i smiled and said 200 (i was about 275-280 at the time)...
  11. LOL @ barbie comment... and Texgirly ... no, not too crazy ... yer one of us after all
  12. they were actually OK with it. i explained that i wanted to do this and didnt want to be talked out of it. i knew they would try to do it . as for in laws, no way no how will they EVER know. they can ASSume all they want, but i told DH telling them would be grounds for castration... they are super judgmental and are disappointed that DH didnt marry a super tiny Chinese woman (ha - they got the exact opposite!!!) and have never really treated me with the respect that i deserve... so, they dont need to know this private information (that i am willing to share with just about anyone else - even strangers...)
  13. like Trixie, i have to disagree with this as well. i am fortunate enough to have UHC and they covered all but $1400 (deductible) of my surgery and fills only cost me $30. i think it does boil down to maturity and truly how bad they want it. **drooolll** mmmmmm ... steak.... i am going in for a fill Monday, can i have steak after that??
  14. whenever i get stuck and PB, my surgeon recommended liquids only for the next 24 hours. your tummy is swollen from the PB and it makes things even tighter. good luck.
  15. Diane, so sorry about the shoulder and the weight gain. please dont let it get to you, it sounds like you are on the right path again, you can do this! i can relate about using vacation for surgeries. it sucks so bad, i will be using a week of vc if they dont approve the FMLA (doubt they will since i am almost positive it will be considered 'cosmetic') and i will be back to work 9 days after my tuck. that is starting to scare me. if you want a vacation, how about a long weekend somewhere? C
  16. I'm getting a fill Monday, we'll see if its a good one. if even slightly too tight I will unfill a tad. im not getting lipo on my butt, however, I want to get something for the toilet. think of how many tummy muscles you use just to get up! yikes not sure how many garments I'm going to get. Nina, I think I'm with you and will get 2 for now. I plan on wearing one for a good 6-8 months after, so I'll probably end up getting more in a smaller size eventually. I'll need to ask doc about shaving. (sorry in advance Neal) the thing I'm really worried about is TOM comes at the end of the month. my sx is on the 29th...
  17. i go in for my TT on 29Feb, I was told I may not pick up my DD for at least 4-6 weeks. yes, it will be beyond difficult, but in the long run, it will be worth it. I am watching big medicine now, I can't wait to see how she turns out!
  18. i told my parents 2-3 months after my surgery. good luck
  19. Wii - Google Search google is your friend...
  20. just a note, oldnavy.com is having drawstring pants on sale right now, i got 5 pair for under 40buck including tax and shipping. i got my same size due to swelling. i figure if they are big, i can always time 'em up...
  21. **sigh** i knew i wasnt going to be able to stick with it... i havent eaten anything so far today, i've had about a scoop of protein powder for this morning (made it w/ 2 scoops and drank 1/2 of it) and this afternoon made 1 scoop and drank about 4 sips before gagging. i really dont know what to do. this whole diet mentality messes me up so bad. banding is not about dieting, why am i doing this to myself? i get satisfied on a few ounces of protein (chicken) why cant i just do that?? now i feel like i am such a failure cause i cant do protein powder ... grrrrr. and yes, i know that its shitty tasting but i should just suck it up.
  22. travelgirl, i feel you ... i just cannot physically push myself in the afternoons like i can in the mornings. that being said, i havent worked out in the early morning all week long. i just cannot bring myself out of bed at 410am to do it. lazy lazy lazy me...
  23. i was steered to this site by a fellow bandster as well Tummy Tuck & Abdominoplasty Information - From Tuck That Tummy! looks like same info, there is also a message board there.
  24. i heard an interview with someone (Simon maybe??) and he said that there are less 'characters' like Sangya and some more rockers ... should be interesting...
