How to Target Under the Arm Flab??
i think any chest type exercises would help this area too (if we're talking about the same area - im talking about my side where the fat rolls up over the bra) and my 'bat wings' for arms... try a chest press on a ball and flyes on the ball. pushups would work too. i do regular ones and standing (leaning) ones. i know it gets discouraging sometimes, but it does pay off in the end!

Cheesy Tuna
hi Luscious, everyone pretty much sticks with the plan of eating that works for them. for me (and georgia girl too i believe) it's Atkins / Low Carb. i dont concern myself with any type of fat content when i am low-carbing it. banding helps with portion control, however, there are several not so good foods that tend to 'slip through' the band quite easily. my suggestion, read posts here and educate yourself as much as possible. for me, the band was the best thing i did for myself. good luck!

NOPE!!! yeah, i guess i am ... just want it to be over with. bet you are just going nuts right about now. about 26 hours from now you will be snooooooozing away! you are the first brachioplasty here ... i will update the 'roster'... welcome!! drkel - welcome to our thread! so sorry to hear the news about your band. sounds like you have done a fabulous job with it though!! all is well with me. i went home for the weekend and just spending time with my family (still sleeping - must be nice :crying: - not an easy thing to do with a 4 year old!!) i am so ready for this surgery. i just want it to happen tomorrow! but of course, i am in no way prepared for it. i was initially going to get a hospital bed for my house for 2 weeks, but after trying out a wedge pillow, i decided against it. just an added expense i didnt really need. take care everyone

karey, very interesting in what your OB said about body chem changing. it makes total sense since there are so many hormones in fat... very interesting!! i will ask my surgeon for maybe an Rx for sleeping pills soon. i did sleep til about 515 this morning, so it was an improvement. She, you look great already, just wait til you get in the flatlands!!! oh dear!!!! Tami, you are in my thoughts quite a bit lately with your dilemma ... i hope you can find something that you are happy with.... Nina and Neal, to say i am green with envy is an understatment ... :glare: i am wishing you speedy and successful surgeries and even speedier recoveries. sorry to hear that you gals are having friend problems. i have a few people who have been very gossip-y and try to help, but i really wouldnt consider them friends anyway... i have one coworker who apparently just found out this morning im having surgery and she wanted to make sure i did my research and im going to a reputable doctor and wants to know all about it. im sorry, you never come to 'chat' with me ... now all of a sudden the nosy-ass bug has bitten you and you must find everything out.... i dont think so (sorry for the mini rant, just frustrates the hell outta me!!) i had my consult with Dr. P for my boobie issue yesterday. he said not to worry about it right now and that we can take care of it after the tuck. he said that he felt the silicone (shudder) in my breast tissue, so it wasnt going anywhere so i guess that's a good thing. we talked about the additional lipo on my back... he is going to do my "entire trunk" including back/side boobies!!!!! but it is more than the coordinator initially quoted me (sight unseen). its going to be an additional 2500 for the surgeon's fees and anesthesia and hospital fees... **sigh** not really what i wanted to hear, but im going to do this, i might as well do it properly, ya know. he is also going to essentially give me a 'back tuck' pull things down so its nice and smooooooth... oh dear god i cant even imagine how much this Sx is going to hurt!!!! yup, im a huge baby and hate pain. what is everyone going to do about the pain pump. i am really getting wishy washy on it. i've heard a few stories lately where it makes me rethink getting it.... its $350.. will it be worth it? anyone getting it? if so, please report in when you have a minute. it sucks, Karey and I are later in the group and we'll pretty much be by our lonesome in here while you are all recovering. of course, i will probably be bored stiff when i am off work after and will be on the boards a lot... either that or drugged up so much that i will need to put a disclamer in my signature :w00t: ok ... writing a book here. you are all in my thoughts. C

When did you really start losing weight
i started losing the day after surgery. actually, the first 65-70 pounds were relatively easy with proper diet and LOTS!!! of exercise. (by lots i mean 7-10 times a week). ever since i hit 100 pounds in June, it's been extremely slow. but, my diet and exercise has not been ideal either. i do not blame my band one bit.

How do you deal with head hunger??

Questions from others while eating out!
i, like wheetsin, just as for the to go box when the food comes to the table. i will not, however, explain myself. it's no one's business that i have my wonderful lap band. if it's a nicer restaurant, i do usually wait until i am finished cause they take the food and box it up for you, but normal, every day restaurants, i have no hesitation asking for the box.

Dr J Lo - Question on Brachioplast
eugenia, try going to makemeheal.com the TT forum and look for 'dog ears', they really do look just like their name. not sure what prevents them.

Industry-standard prices?
Lauren try make me heal.com i think i saw it there. but i also think i read somewhere that it was not legal for a PS to compare their prices with another surgeon... that sounds like i made that one up... :tt1::regular_smile:

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
this weekend will mark my 16 month bandiversary... i dont think i could be more pleased with my progress. (ok ok, goal would be nice, but this is good too). hopefully these angles satisfy some of the more picky viewers of pics :blushing:. if not, tough. dunno what is up with my left leg, my DH said it doesnt really look that deformed, must just be the way i stand - i guess that would explain why my trainer always tells me to straighten my feet!!:tt1:

starting BMI over 50? come on in!
rainyday, i started with a 59.4 BMI, i am now about 37.x... LOVE my band, i have used it as a tool, not a cure-all. i was a volume eater as well and the band has definitely helped me with that... unless you like being in pain and sick good luck to you.

February/March 08 plastics
Tami, wow. i cant believe your friend said that. does she have a green tint? i can understand the back and forth ... this is a huge decision. do you still have the original surgery booked? would the PS be comfortable tucking the port away? i didnt realize that could be an option. wish Dr. P could do that for me, but he wont touch anything to do w/ lap band  Neal and Nina, i am so excited for you guys! Neal, what time is your sx? we'll be waking up and Nina should be almost finished!! she smiles, OMG your pictures look great! trust me, if i didnt get laughed out of the office, you will be welcomed with open arms. you have done a fabulous job and i think you'll see a totally flat tummy with plastics! ok, i've been up since 4am. wide.freaking.awake no clue how i am going to survive 3 more weeks til my surgery!!!
