well i went to the gym this am and let Ted (treadmill) kick my ass for 36 minutes ... i did an incline of 11 for what seemed like eternity. i did it until my legs were screaming so loud i thought the guy next to me was hearing them. it was about 3-5 mins (i lost track when i blacked out ) then down to 0 for about 10-15 seconds then back up to 6 or 7 for a couple of minutes then back up to 11 for a couple of minutes ... repeat that until you hit 36 minutes total and that my friends is my workout... i burned just over 410 calories this morning. i have a step class tonight that i must go to. why must i?? well ummm ... i had a huge breakfast burrito this morning - eggs, shredded cheese, 1 sausage patty and hash browns wrapped in a tortilla. oh dear i dont even want to know the calories - probably more than what i burned this morning!! in todays weigh in, i did not lose. in fact i gained a bit less than 1/8 of a pound so i am going to call it a wash... and of course T.O.M. is visiting starting this morning. oh happy day. not.

sherilynn, dont think of this as a diet ... technically you can have just about whatever you want. in small quantities. i was a huge 'bad food' eater - for lunch i would have 15-20+ small reeses Peanut Butter cups, then more throughout the day ... i actually havent had any pb cups, but occasionally i do have some sugar free candy, but i know if i have one i will more than likely have more and then maybe gain... :rolleyes the day before my surgery, i was having major doubts. MAJOR doubts. "why am i doing this, why cant i just do this on my own", etc... then i had my husband take my "before" picture ... :phanvan seeing that picture 'sealed the deal' for me. i could not believe that i let myself get so large. sure i knew i weighed 400 pounds, but i always avoided looking at any pictures of me ... this time i looked and cried and made up my mind. you can do this, doubts are normal, but you really do have to be ready for the surgery. the band is a tool and can be abused. put your mind to it and you can succeed. good luck,

i have a trainer at my gym. she is wonderfully fit and just makes me ill ... i visit with her for a 1/2 hour every wednesday morning, today was no exception. she really worked me today - oh muh gawed ... she pushed me harder than she's ever pushed and i am already quite sore i did get on the scale today and i am down another 2 pounds to 351.5. i have lost 51 pounds so far and just could not be much happier. my initial December 8th goal was a very aggressive 60 pounds. although i will not make that goal, i am very pleased with my changes so far. both weight-wise and attitude-wise. i know i've posted in previous entries how my mindset has completely transformed, but it really continues to amaze me that i am actually excited to go exercise and have taken a step class and i LOOK for classes at other gyms.. un freaking believable!! :omg: my parents are coming to town in 2 days, i am getting nervous/excited. not sure if they will notice - if they notice will they say anything - if they say anything will they hound me every time they talk to me from now on "how much have you lost in the past 10 minutes??" ... **sigh** ok ... gotta go.

hi. the nerves are very normal. one thing that i just told a friend - make sure you are ready for this. remember the band is a tool and not a guaranteed weight loss... you can have milkshakes all day and not lose weight etc.. for me, the band has probably saved my life. i was banded on 09 October 2006. today at the gym i weighed in - 51 pounds gone. sure i could lose weight with WW, but 1> not this much or 2> i wouldnt be able to keep it off. granted i am eating very well, rarely having sweets - even SF chocolate is on a very very rare occasion now and i work out on average 6 - 8 times a week. i have a personal trainer who kicks my butt every Wednesday. you can do this, keep using your journal as a tool for your thoughts/feelings ... you can always PM me if you need some support. christine / losingjusme

ok, i should probably wait a little bit to post here, but i dont wanna! :eek: i have 51 1/2 pounds to go to get to twoterville .. i am in the deep suburbs, but i am inching forward daily.

mostly for my health. i would lie in bed thinking i was going to have a heart attack ... i was petrified that i would die and not see my daughter grow up :cry however, the better sex with DH doesnt hurt ... :biggrin1: i cant really say im into the looks part yet - i'm still just over 350, but i cant wait to not get the looks of disgust from other people ...

i am working from home today so i got to sleep in for a little bit. i did go on the treadmill today - another 36 minutes. i didnt burn as much as yesterday but it was about 430ish?? i had more 'pan-fried' (with a little olive oil) fish last night Mahi Mahi - only 90 cals in that piece of fish and it was pretty good. so ... eat right, work my butt off ... i dropped a pound. 353.5 soooooooooo close ... i can taste it... heh - or not taste it .. my challenge today will be working from home ... i have all my goodies here - lots of SF candy, SF pudding, etc... i just have to keep my goal in mind..... and think 1 more pound til 50 pounds .... wow. ok, i really have to get to 'work' now so i can go to my step class at 5.

hi ... sorry you had to have a PB about the potato chips - dont beat yourself up. you realized what you did and you can use that as a learning tool.. a couple weeks after being banded, i had THREE huge donuts. i forgave myself and actually havent had a donut since (cause i know if i have one, i will have 3 or more). those Pringles & Doritos 100 calorie packs are great. they taste exactly the same just small portions. just something to think about if you HAVE to have some. good luck C

so, i've dropped some weight and the people at work are making fun (in a joking way) of how my clothes are looking... i broke down and bought a few dresses from LB online. i figured i'd order them small and i will shrink into them. it fits ... in fact, it is roomy. i went from a 6x :embarassed: to a 3x ... OMG!!!! :confused:

i LOVE the mashed potatoes in a box - i think it is betty crocker. they have a 3 cheese that is very good!
