    Hiccups when full

I don't know about it going away, but I can relate. When I eat too much I get the hiccups. For me they last about 10- 15 minutes and are rather uncomfortable (though not painful). They are significantly stronger than any pre-sleeve hiccups I have had before. Luckily it has only happened a few times!

    Went for surgery on 6/25

That is totally scary and it would freak me out for a long long time. I am glad you are now physically OK. It would probably trigger anxiety attacks in me for months (as I am prone to them anyway). Again, I am glad you survived that ordeal.

    Antidepressants?

I take Zoloft and skipped them the first two days, dissolved them in water for a few days and starting at about a week out I was able to swallow them after I broke them in half. At 2.5 weeks I was able to swallow them whole. Presuming you have not been having any problems keeping anything down, I would try to break it in half and see how that goes. If you have trouble with that still, talk to your doctor. The low dose pills are pretty small and even if you have to take 4 to get to your dosage it can be done.
  6. I had seen on here that some people experience lactose intolerance post-op. Well, it appears to have happened to me. It is very upsetting to me because I LOVE milk and all dairy products. My question: for those that had it start post-op...did it get better in time or did it continue to be a problem for you? Thanks! Nicole
  7. I start full liquids stage this Sunday, which includes yogurt, applesauce, cream Soups, etc. I am wondering how much I should be able to eat at one sitting? Will I be able to finish a 4oz yogurt cup or will that be too much? Just thinking ahead, and looking very forward to some additional variety in my meals!!!! Nicole

    Who needs CLOTHES??????

Those are too big for me but I plan on cleaning out my closet in the next few weeks...what size are you wearing now? I may be able to send you some work clothes to keep you going for a little bit...pm me nicole
  9. Hi....I have not been on line much due to surgery and then traveling (as I went to mexico for mine). I am doing pretty well. I agree about getting the fluids in. I sip every minute I am awake. I need to walk more too, but it is 105 degrees here today. I took a walk this morning but think I would melt now if I went out with only having 40 or so ounces of fluid in me so far today!

i did weight a lost 4 pounds - I think. my scale is horribly inaccurate. I want a new one and my husband tells me to just get rid of it all together and not replace it. I guess our husbands agree on that point. They will never understand!!!

    Nexium?

Sorry, no advise. Just agreeing 100% that they taste nasty crushed. They make me gag! :001_smile:
  11. Hiya - Have woken up early, as normal I think at the moment, feeling a little less sore than yesterday. Did you weigh yet? LOL - I regained almost everything I lost pre op but have lost 4lbs of that today, I know it'll settle. Hubby says he will remove the scales, but its just a game I play, girl thing having dieted for half my life!!

We're going out to walk today somewhere flat - our 'block' involves a steep hill (which you can take either way, up or down) but I am not sure I can do it all just yet, so we'll take a drive to the beach and walk along the prom which will be nice.

I am just about managing my fluids only if I drink all day! Not sure how I'll cope with stopping after meals when we get onto 'proper' food....

Hope today is good for you....

    Kathy

  12. Hello sleeve sister...how are you feeling today? Yesterday was pretty rough for me, but I feel much better today!

  13. Hi there - hows it going? Hope your surgery went well - I think we were due on the same day 10th.... so thinking of you.....

  14. Hi! I saw your message but now I can't get back to it! I am getting more anxious by the day. I broke down crying today thinking that if I die my husband has too many papers to sort!!! Luckily the moment passed in less than a couple of minutes. I started the pre-op diet and I am doing OK. Resisted cake and ice cream at work today, but the refried beans I ate had way more carbs than I expected when I later tracked it on-line. I think you asked about the low carb thing on your liver - I think it shrinks your liver which is supposed to help for surgery. The past two days I have kept to it and I can continue b/c I know I need to in order to help ensure a safer surgery - but it is not fun or easy! How else are you doing? Scared or just excited?

  15. Hi! This is Terri again. The time is coming up soon. I have my surgery with Dr. Aceves on 6/9 and I was very excited. Now I am getting scared. How are you doing? I started my pre-op diet today but I am still not real sure what I should eat. I was told to eat 70-75 gr of protein and under 35 of carb. That is all I know. I thought eating protein was hard on the liver? I will just keep going until it is time! How are you handling all this?
