  1. I was 256 when I had the surgery. Almost 2x your age. I wish you luck and truly hope that you do it. I am also 5ft 6 inch. I am now 64 years old. 89 lbs less. This is what I think...I am direct....If you don't do something you will not be 260lbs any more. You will be 261+ Take a look at all the girls who have had the lapband. They are doing great and so will you. Keep thinking possitive for your self. Have someone take a photo of you front and back.
  2. i EXERCISED ALL THE TIME. mAINLY WALKING. iT WILL BE UP TO YOUR DOC WHEN YOU CAN DO IT. My mental status was terrific. and so should yours. Stay away from Jealous people and people who will try to sabatauge your sucesss.. Also dump your soda and get rid of the bread.rice, Pasta.
  3. Welcome from one Brooklyn girl to another. I left Brooklyn @ 1967..Banded for 2 years and 3 months Call on me for anything. I went to Erasmus Hall Hs
  4. You are the most normal person I know. Keep posting. Best of luck. All will be fine. Say bye bye to your soda, bread, Pasta, rice, Cookies, cake. and any other stuff that is not good for you. Cant wait to hear about all the good news and results.
  5. Marti. So many of us lapbanders have that at the beginning right after surgery. Drink as much as possible. Be kind to yourself. Perhaps you can relax yourself a bit. Are you tense? You only have the surgery just a few days. Love yourself...
  6. I think whatever you are going throu is right for you. What does the Dr say? Pain is normal. I hope that you are walking, I recommend gas-x . you arent using a straw or drinking soda are you?
  7. Congrats and welcome. You are a babe in the woods, So sorry about the emergency. .. I hope you fee better really quick. Rest Rest rest. You will feel good soon . After you rest, walk a bit.
  8. I had my surgery just a few days before you. Good luck on gettnig back in to the grove. You can do it.
  9. Don't forget that the iron can make you constipated...You do not want that I am sure. Best of luck
  10. I agree that you should ask the doc. Ask him about how much Protein, and Carbs you need per day. Best of luck to you.
  11. I think 3 shakes a day are too much. To many carbs also. Usually people at their sweetspot do not eat a breakfast like yours. It is kind of high in carbs. Have you gone on Calorie King.com? 3 shakes a day and also eating food mgiht be really 6 meals a day. Most shakes are high in Carbs, sugar and calories. Unless u are doing Premier protein from costo. or even atkins. They usually say that 1/2 your weight is the amount of protein you need. What does the dr say about this?
  12. I would not have the milk, I think the shakes have milk inside the powder already. I still use Atkins and also Premier Protein. --They both have low carbs, and low sugar. You want high protein and low carbs. That is the secret...Drink lots of Water.. Also please for all your sakes. Do not get constitpated. You will be VERY SORRY I mean this info for now and right after surgery. Those pain pills make you constipated.....YOU Will BE very sorry.... good luck.
  13. how arbout your vitamins.. I am recommending liquid viatmins from www.wellesse.com. I bought the starter pack.
  14. I think everyone has given you quite a bit of good advise. I really don't see any criticism from anyone. I have had my band 2 years and 3 months and lost 89 lbs. I am 64 years old and did great. I did lose very slowly, Compared to younger gals and guys. Instead of having a 2 week liver shrink, I had to do it for 3 weeks. EVERY DR and EVERY CENTER is different as is every person. You have the advantage of being an RN. I amongst everyone who wrote to you only wish the best for you. Honestly, If you follow the rules of the lapband world~ you will suceed. If you fight them you wont. I hope that you do not plan on eating bread, drinking soda, and stuffing your mouth with food.(and other rules not mentioned ). Other than that, I am anxous to hear of your great weightloss in the future.
  15. Welcome to our group. I am sure you will do fine.
  16. omg It is on...thanks silly me.
  17. I was able to get the ticker ready but I didn't know how to set it up that I could have it all the time~ Any one there that can help me please. thanks.
  18. I have been using it for over 2 years. I love it too. I ws able to buy it from another place, when i put in my zipcode on the Bell Plantation site, It says that a low calorie, low carb ice cream shop called De'lites has it. I have also bought it at the Bariatric center that I go to. i love it ~A bit too much sometimes~ Thanks for the great recipe Miss Georgia Girl.. Keep up the good work everyone. All of you are doing so well....
  19. Okay then. We all think you are doing great. I wish you continuous success in what you are doing. Next year at this time you will probably will be at your awaited goal. I look forward to reading all your acomplishments.
  20. Sorry for your pain.. It will go away soon. Walk and take Gas x....Feel better.
  21. One day at a time. Have you had your first fill yet? It might even take 3-5 fill before you even feel restriction. Don't forget to measure your food, Chew it good. Drink your water. Are you stuffing yoiur face or are you taking your time? Laband sucesser learn lessons on how to eat correctly. People in a big rush can not learn thier lessons and then regain the weight back. I also lost weight slowly. Are you eating Bread? rice, Drinking soda. I hope not.
  22. Last year my hubby and I went to a Meet and greet in Las vegas. It is with all weight loss guys and gals. We ate every day at Subway. Go ahead and have your sandwich. Open it up and eat it with a fork. Use the bread as a plate. Darn it all. you got the surgery....I am gonna get you to lose weight. my e-mail is lizybird@aol.com write to me.
  23. Regarding the drinking with the eating. Think of putting all your food in the sink. Then put the water on....What happens to the food? Thats what you are doing to the food you ate. Watering it down and it melts. Down the drain. The reason for the lapband is to keep YOU full until the next meal. Re coffee I guess its ok. I do coffee in the am about 6:00 I drink 2 cups everyday. Why would u even buy a 12 inch sandwich? I suggest that you find out exactly what foods have protein and have protein. Then find out about the carbs. veggies and fruit. Not bread, potatoes rice. they are filled with carbs. We are all on a high protein- low carb program...It is similar to atkins. Stay around 80 grms protein and 60 carbs...ask the nutritionest. .. Carbs turn to fat. Protein keeps you full and helps you lose weight. Regarding diabetes, I do not know anything. What does the regular doc say about your #'s from blood work? As for burping. get some gas x.
