  1. Hi. I was banded November 1 and had a lot of pain that first week. Remember, you have had abdominal surgery. Not everyone has that discomfit, but it is normal. . . . and it goes away. Were you given a prescription for pain meds? Use them. Eat what ever you can - it will come back. I also had shoulder pain - I think they had my left arm stretched out during the surgery - at least that is what I remember before being put under. That pain also went away in a few days. Good luck. Enjoy your new stomach!
